**TRUCK DRIVER**
Reporting to the Transportation Manager, the Driver delivers and picks up materials from suppliers and customers in a timely and professional manner. The Driver operates forklifts, works with hand tools and various production equipment to support our production team.
**Responsibilities and Tasks**:
- Perform pre and post trip vehicle inspections,
- Complete necessary log book and mileage reports
- Schedules and communicates any repairs or maintenance
- Inspect all material while loading and unloading, reporting any damaged materials immediately
- Maintains a clean, uncluttered and safe work area as designated.
- Determines best route for delivery considering weather, time and road conditions
- Follows Company Safe Work Practices
- Picks order and assists in plant and yard duties as required
**Education and Experience**:
- Grade 12 diploma or equivalent
- 3+ years experience driving delivery truck
- Class 1 License, M & F endorsement
- Forklift operators certificate, an asset
**Competencies and Technical Skills**:
- Clean drivers abstract
- Proven ability to service and maintain truck and trailer
- Ability to read a map and plan delivery route to maximize efficiency
- Superior work ethic with excellent time management skills
- Positive attitude
- Self-starter, working independently and with mínimal supervision
- Mechanically inclined in order to recognize potential problems with equipment and ability to repair equipment.
- Must be a team player willing to take direction and suggest efficiencies.
- Physically fit; able to lift up to 75lbs unassisted and up to 150lbs with assistance.
