Medavie Health Services New Brunswick (MHSNB) is the subsidiary of Medavie Health Services responsible for the optimal operation and management of EM/ANB, an integrated organization specializing in the delivery of primary health care services with the goal of facilitating access to quality care so that patients can achieve better health outcomes. MHSNB is fortunate to be able to count on the expertise of its employees who work passionately to build a healthier province.

Our company is currently looking for new team members to support its mission of providing excellence in emergency and community care within our various programs, namely Ambulance New Brunswick, the Extra-Mural Program and NB Health Link. Each advocates for a highly coordinated, quality service offering guided by a goal of continuous improvement across primary health care.

Medavie Health Services is part of Medavie, a health services organization. Together with Medavie Blue Cross, we are committed to providing innovative solutions that will improve the health of all Canadians.

As a not-for-profit organization, Medavie is proud to commit an annual social dividend to the Medavie Health Foundation to support programs and initiatives aimed at addressing some of our country’s most pressing physical and mental health care challenges.

We are looking for a Process Implementation Specialist to help support our growing operation.

As the organization continues to expand, so does its complexity, leading to increased operational challenges. Medavie Health Services New Brunswick (MHSNB) seeks a dedicated Process Improvement Specialist to streamline operations, improve workflows, and support sustainable growth, allowing the program to serve the community more effectively. The role will be initially assigned to NB Health Link (NBHL) operations but may also be assigned to other organizational priority initiatives overtime.

The role will work across departments to assess workflows, identify areas for improvement, and implement best practices. By addressing inefficiencies and reducing bottlenecks, this position will help improve productivity, support employee satisfaction, and contribute to the program’s overall success and longevity.

Role & Responsibilities: The Process Implementation Specialist shall perform tasks including, but not limited to those identified in the sub-sections below.

Identifying and Prioritizing Process Improvements
- Conduct assessments across teams to identify inefficiencies, areas for process optimization, and opportunities for efficiency.
- Collaborate with team leaders and staff to understand current pain points and gather insights for potential improvements.

Implementing Best Practices
- Develop and standardize processes to ensure consistency across the organization, enhancing operational efficiency.
- Create and enforce guidelines to support consistent implementation of improved workflows across teams.

Balancing Short-Term and Long-Term Operational Needs
- Work closely with teams to balance immediate operational needs with strategic, long-term process improvements.
- Establish a framework to help prioritize daily tasks in a way that aligns with the organizations long-term goals for sustainable growth.

Supporting Employee Workload and Promoting Continuous Improvement
- Alleviate workload for teams by eliminating redundancies, streamlining tasks, and addressing operational bottlenecks.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement by encouraging feedback, conducting training sessions, and providing ongoing support for process changes.

Ensuring Patient Safety and Risk Management
- Mitigate patient safety risks by implementing proactive measures, such as policy development and staff education, to reduce operational strain on clinics.
- Review and improve processes related to patient notifications, portal usage, and EMR management to enhance service quality and safety.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education / Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Healthcare Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3+ years of experience in process improvement, operations management, or a related role, preferably within healthcare or a similarly regulated environment.
- Proven expertise in project management, process optimization, and implementing operational best practices.
- Certification in lean six sigma or process improvement certification is considered an asset

Knowledge / Skills
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with teams across the organization.
