This is an exciting time to join our #YYCCrew and drive YYC forward as one of Canada"s best airports **WHAT YOU WILL DO** The Environmental Analyst position is suited for a professional with a keen interest and experience in the understanding and managing environmental and sustainability performance in the aviation sector. This role is responsible for supporting all environmental and sustainability portfolios the Airport Authority, including climate action (GHG emissions reduction and climate change resiliency), materials and resource management (waste reduction, diversion and safe materials management), protection of water resources (water quality, quantity and water use), land and wildlife management (wildlife hazard mitigation and responsible land use practices), and promoting healthy people and communities (minimizing aviation impacts on communities). The Environmental Analyst will focus on collecting, analyzing, managing and reporting on environmental data in order to support YYC’s Sustainability Strategy and environmental program requirements. This role will also involve supporting the implementation of environmental and sustainability programs. **RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE**: - Conducting environmental field monitoring and data collection for the following types of systems: - Surface water and groundwater quality and flow/water levels; - Air quality; - Soil and vegetation; - Waste generation; - Environmental protection infrastructure condition; - Wildlife and invertebrates; - Noise and vibration; and - Other environmental conditions or aspects as required. - Maintaining environmental and sustainability metric databases and records. - Analyzing and interpreting environmental and sustainability datasets to produce reports and metrics. - Organize and analyze statistics and trend data for reports, studies, and presentations - Support fulfilling the reporting requirements for federal, provincial, and municipal compliance reporting. - Liaising and communicating with internal and external stakeholders, including by processing information requests, and keeping records of consultation and engagement events. - Coordinating logistics to support the implementation of environmental programs and the YYC sustainability strategy. **WHAT YOU BRING** - Environmental or geological science or engineering degree or diploma with general understanding of environmental and sustainability issues and regulations. - Working knowledge of Federal, Provincial and Municipal environmental regulations. - Strong analytical skills with the ability to statistically evaluate technical data. - Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word, Power Point and experience working with data management software. - Knowledge of geographic information systems, including the ESRI platform. - Strong writing and documentation skills with the ability to write, develop and update documentation, programs, policies and reports. **WHAT ELSE?** - Must have the ability to secure and maintain an Airport Vehicle Operators Permit, Radio Operators License and Firearm License. - Must be able to meet the requirements of a safety-sensitive position. This role is considered safety sensitive and will require a pre-employment drug and alcohol test through a third-party provider - Preferably registered or eligible for registration as a professional engineer, geoscientist, biologist, agrologist, or engineering technologist in the Province of Alberta. - Must be able to obtain and maintain a Restricted Area Identification Card (RAIC). - This role is eligible for our hybrid work model with a combination of in-office and remote work. **Our Values**: We are **ACCOUNTABLE. **We take ownership and step up to get the job done.
