**The Role**:
GM’s Diagnostic Infrastructure System and Object Artifact team is offering you an opportunity to rapidly develop your technical and leadership skills to become tomorrow's most sought-after Diagnostic Professional.

In this Co-Op opportunity, you will contribute towards two specific initiatives that are aligned with the enterprise goals of “Continuous verification of system level requirements” and “Developing an inventory of Diagnostic object artifacts”. Your skills with Python, GitHub, and Artificial Intelligence (AI) will be valuable in this position. You will interface with multiple cross-functional teams that span multiple areas of the business (e.g. Product development teams, Calibration teams, Verification teams, Manufacturing, Service, and Remote digital business teams). Some work initiatives will include innovating new test automation tools/scripts, automatically extract and link data from repositories, updating visualization boards, digitizing/documenting technical knowledge, and more. Success will be measured by how much you bolster and improve the overall health of the enterprise diagnostic ecosystem.

**Roles & Responsibilities**:

- Innovate new methods to efficiently execute tasks
- Create test scripts for continuous verification
- Create scripts for automatic data extraction
- Create scripts for automatic data verification
- Use Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools and techniques to rapidly find solutions to problems
- Develop business insight by analyzing data and creating charts and graphs
- Collect complex technical information from diagnostic Engineers/Leads/Fellows
- Develop process charts, training diagrams, case studies using Visio/Lucid/PowerPoint, etc.
- Develop requirements documentations, quick reference guides, training simulations to inform and sharpen diagnostic skills across GM
- Publish documentation such as training material, newsletters, web/SharePoint content

**Required Qualifications**:

- Currently in the 3rd or 4th year of study in Electrical, Software, Mechanical, or Systems Engineering.
- Available for an 8-month term, with flexibility to extend to 8-12 months.

**Communication**:

- Demonstrated excellence in oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to ask questions, seek clarification, and challenge norms to rapidly overcome challenges.
- Creative talent and effective use of drawing tools to create images, graphs, charts, etc., to convey messages.

**Technical Skills**:

- Collecting, analyzing, and visualizing data
- Skills required: SQL, scripts/Python, lookups/pivots/macros, graphs/charts
- Is self-driven and can manage time appropriately to achieve a long-term goal
- **Python Programming and Automation**: Good understanding of Python for scripting, including test automation, task automation, and data wrangling.
- Familiarity with multiprocessing for parallel processing tasks.
- **Power Apps**: Basic knowledge of Power Apps for automating tasks.
- Basic skills in Power BI for creating and managing dashboards.
- **Version Control**: Basic knowledge of GitHub for version control and collaboration.

**Preferred Skills**:

- Demonstrated experience using AI tools and techniques to solve problems
- Practical or academic exposure to embedded controls system theory and diagnostic design
- Demonstrated proficiency with engineering technical writing and presentations
- High level of interpersonal skill to work effectively with cross functional teams
