**Who We Are**:
Heritage Park is Canada's largest living history museum and offers visitors a chance to experience life in Western Canada from the 1860s to the early 1950s. The Park features historical buildings, costumed interpreters, working antiques, and various exhibits that provide insight into the region's past.

**Job Overview**:
Reporting to the Guest Services Manager, the Retail Sales Associate - Soda Shoppe Associate will work in Harvey’s Confectionery and will greet and serve our guests in the style of a 1950’s Soda Jerk. Dedicated to providing an exceptional guest experience you will be a people person bringing high energy and attention to detail every day.

As a Soda Shoppe Associate, you will serve premium ice cream, sodas, shakes and other tasty treats. You will also be responsible for working with guests on the sales floor selling unique candy, gourmet chocolates, baked goods, and fudge.

**Responsibilities**:
Soda Shoppe (Harvey’s Confectionery) Operational Support
- Entertain guests by utilizing real Soda Jerk skills
- Operate the soda fountain, serve ice cream and other food products to our guests
- Act in-character in relation to 1950s soda shoppe environment (mínimal)
- Process sales, handle transactions and perform basic opening and closing duties with accuracy and attention to detail
- Make recommendations to the leadership team on improving the employee and guest experience
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and standards (merchandising and food safety) at the location, ensuring visual appeal is maintained
- Communicate with management regarding store needs on a daily basis
- Provide an exceptional visitor experience through friendly and courteous interactions with guests, staff, and volunteers, using polite greetings, actively acknowledging guests, and handling situations positively
- Cover shifts in other retail roles as needed, based on staffing requirements and employee absences
- Perform other duties as required

**Required Qualifications**:

- Prior food service industry experience would be an asset
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team
- Fluency in English is essential, and additional language skills would be an asset
- Demonstrated strong interpersonal and communication skills in a client-faced setting

**Special Clothing and Equipment**:

- Appropriate costuming and safety equipment will be provided by Heritage Park; and
- Footwear, as designated by the Heritage Park Costume Department, will be provided by the employee.

**Special Working Conditions**:

- The position will be exposed to weather extremes and will work both indoors and outdoors
- This position is physically demanding, and the incumbent must have the ability to stand for long periods of time and walk throughout the Park for extended periods

- The schedule for this position varies
- The schedule will generally include weekdays, weekends, holidays and some evenings as Heritage Park is open 7 days a week during the operating season
