Preston Sand and Gravel has been supplying quality aggregate materials to Southern Ontario for over fifty years. We offer a complete line of crushed, washed, screened and recycled aggregate products to service the heavy construction, landscape and agricultural industries.

We are seeking Full-time, Seasonal **Crusher/Wash Plant Operator, **with a strong work ethic, ability to work independently under mínimal supervision and safety focused mindset.

Reporting to our Plant Superintendent your job duties will include;
- Maintains equipment in proper working order.
- Maintains and reviews maintenance logs for repairs.
- Reviews and reports employee’s time through company software
- Communicates with drivers and crew which includes supervisor, loader operators and laborers.
- Uses safe practices in all activities.
- Uses shovels or mechanical equipment to remove excess material from beneath the plant.
- Performs light maintenance on equipment.
- Schedules and performs preventative maintenance on plant equipment in conjunction with management Maintains an inventory of regularly required replacement parts.
- Inspects condition and operation of plant equipment and reports required repairs or other findings to Supervisor.
- Performs required emergency repairs on production equipment required to address plant breakdowns.
- Adheres to all safety, environmental and company policies and procedures in completing daily tasks and completes all required paperwork in a timely fashion.
- Other duties as assigned.

**Requirements**:

- Education: High School diploma/GED.
- 2-3 years. Experience running a plant including crusher or wash plant is ideal.
- Experience working at sand & gravel plant.
- Mining experience/background preferred.
- Basic mechanical skills. Welding/cutting experience preferred. Mobile Equipment operation preferred.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Experience with equipment operation and maintenance. Ability to work in confined spaces.
- Experience with Microsoft Outlook and Excel

**Work Conditions**
- Some exposure to water, chemicals, hazardous materials, and noise.
- Heavy lifting / moving, walking, standing, and climbing will be required routinely.
- May be required to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in inclement weather conditions.
- Work outdoors. May encounter various elemental conditions, e.g. rain, snow, heat, cold, etc.
- Required to wear personal protective equipment, e.g., Safety boots, etc.
- Manual dexterity required to operate field equipment, tools, and computer peripherals.
- May be required to perform repetitive heavy lifting up to 50 pounds.
