UNIT ASSISTANT
Temporary Full-Time (6 months)
Hourly Rate: $25.03 - $28.88 (commensurate with experience)

Under the direction of the Director of Care, the Unit Assistant provides organizational, administrative and clerical support to the clinical department and physicians. They maintain and ensure confidentiality of clinical files and resident charts and updates related administrative records. The Unit Assistant works collaboratively with the interprofessional team to facilitate effective, efficient and accurate communication with internal and external stakeholders to ensure optimal quality of life for our residents. The work of the Unit Assistant is typically diverse, advanced and may be time-sensitive.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Managing inventory and ordering clinical supplies and equipment
- Booking appointments for residents and arranging transportation as required
- Handling records retention and archiving functions
- Providing general clerical support to the Director of Care and Site Administrator

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Post-secondary diploma in Office Administration, Medical Office Administration, or related field.
- Secondary School Graduation Diploma
- Unit Assistant / Ward Clerk experience in long term care (preferably) or hospital environments is a definite asset
- Proven computer skills and experience with PointClickCare, Excel, and Word are definite assets
- COVID-19 Vaccination required to work in our facility (2 Doses)
