This position will provide support for our Operations and the Operations Support Department, project planning, and the evaluation of cross-functional initiatives. Working with multiple data sets and sources, this position will comprehend, consolidate, review, and develop these data sets so that they can be transformed into information and knowledge to support evidence-based decision-making in a holistic manner and enable quality decision making.
**Primary Responsibilities**:
- Perform analytics that will combine data sets and help to identify the correct action to “move the needle” towards the right direction
- In conjunction with the Chief Planning Officer, maintain and enhance existing management tools such as balanced scorecard, performance/project process tracking, and management (expanding beyond financial information) reporting template
- Identify all existing database and available data elements throughout the company including, but not limited to, marketing, finance, accounting, operations, purchasing, point-of-sales (POS), price look-up (PLU), and others deemed to be applicable for the projects’ needs
- Work closely with internal stakeholders, maintain in-depth knowledge of business operations, strategies, priorities, and information, and help drive strategic decision making through detailed analysis, insights, and reporting on business metrics and results
- Communicate with the Operations Team and members of the Operations Support Department regarding any metrics/indicators regarding methodology, significance, purpose, etc.
- Collaborating with the MIS Department, this position will also develop templates and design new data elements including documenting processes and procedures when necessary.
- Transforming theoretical to tangible results with the intent to enhance practice.
**Requirements**:
- Proficiency in Excel, multivariate regression analysis, pivot tables, and knowledge in data management (SQL and VBA)
- Demonstrates critical thinking skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills including the ability to document processes and procedures
- Demonstrates judgment, tact, and diplomacy in dealing with internal and external customers
- University degree preferably in hospitality; MBA preferred
- 5+ years of experience working in a business intelligence role
- Experience with QSR or the service industry is an asset
- Experience with Tableau or other BI tools is an asset
- Ability to converse in Chinese (Mandarin and Cantonese) is an asset
- Flexibility to travel to the US occasionally including weekends
