Established in 1977, BC Care Providers Association (BCCPA) is the leading voice for B.C.’s continuing care sector. Our growing membership base includes over 450 long-term care, assisted living, and commercial members from across British Columbia. Through its operating arm EngAge BC, the organization represents independent living and private-pay home health operators.

The Facilitating Access to Skilled Talent (FAST) program helps immigrants get ready for employment in Canada by helping them to translate their international experience and education to industry standards. The program helps immigrants launch their careers in Canada by offering self-paced, online employment preparation.

**Employment Relation Specialist (ERS) Objective**s**:
We are seeking a self-motivated and results-driven individual to play a lead role in building and deepening relationships with employers by connecting them to immigrant talent through the new FAST Seniors Care initiative, a partnership between BCCPA and IEC-BC. You will engage with employers to onboard them to FAST Seniors Care’s new online employer portal, and then support employers to engage with newcomer job seekers who are interested in pursuing careers in care. The ERS role will play a key role in the continued development and improvement of the Employer Portal platform, including troubleshooting, collecting feedback, and identifying strategies for improvement. The role will also facilitate the successful matching of skilled immigrants who complete competency assessments and are eligible to match with employer identified job opportunities.

Approximately 50% of the workweek will be spent on employer relationship management, 20% on system administration and reporting, 10% on knowledge mobilization, 10% on communications and marketing, and 10% on meetings and other additional responsibilities.

The Employer Relations Specialist will report directly to the Director of Policy, Partnerships and Workforce Development, as well as working closely with the Project Manager.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:
**Employer Engagement & Relationship Management**:
Manage all aspects of relationship management with BCCPA's & EngAge BC's existing employer network, including:

- Designing and implementing an employer engagement strategy with seniors care and living providers, including targets and deliverables, to influence and support employers to participate in hiring newcomer job seekers through the FAST Seniors Care initiative.
- Development of the online Employer Portal, including vetting and validating requirements with employers
- Engaging with employers on the use of the online portal, including gathering feedback and monitoring/ reporting on employer satisfaction, and suggesting improvements to ensure the success of the project.
- Gathering information on employer hiring needs, including open job opportunities and employment requirements.

**Knowledge Mobilization & Events**:
Disseminating relevant information about the FAST Seniors Care initiative to employers and newcomers, including:

- Conducting individual and group presentations for employers to provide information about the FAST Seniors Care initiative, including how to participate, utilize the online hiring platform, engage with newcomer job seekers, etc.
- Participating in newcomer-facing webinars to provide information about the FAST Seniors Care initiative and the job opportunities available in the seniors care sector, how to get hired, etc.
- Organize and facilitate project related events (e.g., hiring event, working group, webinars, etc.)

**Communications & Marketing**:
Leading the development of employer and newcomer focused marketing materials, including:

- Developing newcomer focused outreach materials, including social media posts, print collateral, one-pagers, PowerPoint slide decks, etc.
- Support the Director of Policy, Partnerships & Workforce Development to develop materials to promote careers in the seniors living and continuing care sector more broadly.

**Teamwork & Collaboration**:
Working with the BCCPA and IEC-BC teams on the FAST Seniors Care initiative, including:

- Reporting to the Director of Policy, Partnerships & Workforce Development and working closely with the Project Manager.
- Collaborating with FAST Coordinator - understanding on in-system; working closely with Project Coordinator to understand immigrant user.
- Participate in inter and intra organizational team meetings to plan and discuss best approaches, and report on progress and outcomes.

**System Administration & Reporting**:

- Collect platform and data requirements for on-going development of the Employer Portal.
