Reporting to the Chief Planner/Director of Planning, the Manager of Long Range Planning is responsible for updating the City of Brantford Official Plan to maintain conformity with Provincial legislation, regulations, policy and plans, and will oversee the next comprehensive Official Plan update including the review of existing policies intended to guide growth. The Manager will lead and support the Long Range Planning team in the preparation and/or review of official plan policy, secondary/block plans, by-laws (e.g. Zoning By-law, site plan, parkland dedication) and guidelines (e.g. urban design manual), and ensure activities such as heritage conservation, community improvement, development monitoring/statistics, growth management and special projects are carried out effectively and efficiently. The successful applicant will provide expert advice and recommendations, prepare and review reports and other correspondence to City Council and Committees, participate in corporate projects and initiatives, and liaise with other City and agency staff, consultants, development proponents, stakeholders and the general public.
This position will involve time working at City Hall and time working from home, to be set out in a Work From Home Agreement, with periodic evening meetings each month.

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Successfully A university degree in Urban and Regional Planning or equivalent.
- Current full membership with the Canadian Institute of Planners and the Ontario Professional Planners Institute.
- A minimum 5 years of experience in a municipal policy planning environment.
- Sound knowledge of applicable legislation and regulations, municipal policies and procedures is required.
- Strong leadership, strategic planning, project management, communication and human relation skills are required.
- IMS 200 Certification or equivalent (ICS200) is considered an asset. Subject to course availability, certification must be achieved within the first year of employment.

**WAGE/SALARY RANGE**: $57.87 to $72.34 per hour (based on a 35-hour work week) plus benefits.
