**Job Description**:
We are currently seeking an enthusiastic Accounting Supervisor** **for our Mississauga steel joist and deck manufacturing plant. As the senior member of the plant accounting team, you will be engaged in the areas of accounts payable, invoicing, plant production reporting, team development, weekly, monthly and annual reconciliation and reporting local results and information to the corporate accounting team among other duties.
As a member of our team, your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to the following:
- Perform all accounting/finance duties at the branch plant level with the support of accounting department personnel.
- Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures.
- Supervise and maintain financial records.
- Prepare, review and analyze financial reports, monitor actual results versus budget variances.
- Work closely with project managers to ensure revenue costs and profits are recorded accurately and timely on long-term construction contracts. Identify and verify information on a project when there is over or under runs in weight and/or hours. Monitor status of project change orders for over/under runs.
- Coordinate monthly job cost reviews with operations management and project managers.
- Prepare capital and operations budget at the site level.
- Ensure customer invoices are processed on a daily basis. Review project budgets, customer information, sales tax, and product codes for accuracy. Prepare commercial invoices for live and scheduled loads going to the US.
- Process supplier invoices and reconcile general ledger with accounts payable on a monthly basis.
- Works closely with purchasing and receiving departments to ensure accurate inventory levels and address supplier billing issues.
- Support the analytical needs of the corporate office. Ensure corporate deadlines are respected.
- Supervise other accounting personnel at the branch plant level.
- Perform additional related duties as assigned.
**Qualifications**:
- Knowledge of accounting principles, applicable laws, codes and regulations.
- Knowledge of financial systems, budgets, financial reporting and financial data analysis.
- Demonstrate exceptional communication and English language skills (French would be an asset).
- Possess a team-oriented work ethic and a strong commitment to organizational values.
- Have the ability to multitask and prioritize, and possess strong attention to detail in a deadline driven environment.
- Knowledge of Oracle Financial Systems and Lean accounting concepts are considered a plus.
- Must be currently authorized to work in Canada. Applicants must be within commuting distance to Mississauga (Dixie and Derry Road area).
