Join the County of Elgin as a Temporary Part-Time Weekend Personal Support Worker position at Terrace Lodge **Position Title**: Personal Support Worker (PSW) **Type**: Temporary Part-time, this posting is for a 6-month contract **Compensation**: $30.87 - $31.30/hour as per collective agreement **Hours**: Weekend shifts only; 8-hour shifts (days, afternoons and night shifts) scheduled between Fridays at 10pm and Mondays at 6am, there is no guarantee on the number of hours. Elgin Manor "the home where the heart is" is a 90-bed long-term care facility located in the Township of Southwold just minutes outside of St. Thomas, Ontario. **About the Role**: As a certified Personal Support Worker, you will play a vital role in our residents’ daily lives. You’ll be joining a dedicated care team that works collaboratively to support dignity, safety, and overall well-being through established job routines. **Your responsibilities include**: - Providing personal care such as bathing, dressing, toileting, and transfers - Assisting with meals and nutrition support - Tidying resident rooms and common areas - Performing minor treatments and reporting health observations - Responding to call bells with attentiveness and empathy - Participating in care planning through daily reports and documentation - Supporting inclusive, respectful, and equitable care delivery - Additional duties as assigned **Qualifications**: - Completion of a Personal Support Worker certificate program from a recognized post-secondary institution. - Must be willing to further training/education of the Personal Support Worker field through in-services, etc. - Familiarity with: - Health & Safety Procedures - Resident Bill of Rights - Fixing Long-Term Care Act, 2021 - Point Click Care - Demonstrates a commitment to the delivery of safe, efficient care to the personal needs of residents. **What You Can Expect as an Employee**: - Competitive compensation + 14% in lieu of benefits and 4% vacation pay, paid every pay. - Offered enrollment in the OMERS pension plan (if enrolled, in lieu of benefits will reduce to 9%) - Employee & Family Assistance Program (Homewood Health) - Rewarding work that directly impacts quality of life - Some flexible scheduling through the Staff Schedule Care app, including shift giveaways, and shift swapping only with other Weekend employees. **Conditions of Employment**: - Successful completion of a police record check with vulnerable sector clearance. - Satisfactory Tuberculosis (TB) screening documentation.
