Fort St John, Canada Enerflex Full time

Reporting to the Manager, Commissioning & Controls, the **Power Systems Technical Specialist** is responsible for but not limited to providing commissioning and operational support services to customers for Enerflex supplied natural gas-powered generation packages and advanced maintenance functions, procedures, activities, and responsibilities associated with working on power generation systems.

**Responsibilities**
- Perform emergency service, preventative maintenance, repairs, troubleshooting, and offer operations instruction for industrial engine driven generators and associated controls systems.
- Commission and service Enerflex designed and fabricated power generation systems; coordinate all related on-site commissioning activities.
- Provide support and assistance for the installation of new and existing generator control system panels and associated equipment.
- Provide telephone and onsite support to customers and field technicians as required.
- Assist with testing new power generation packages controls system and programming logic at the Calgary manufacturing facility before shipment to customer site.
- Program, test, and trouble shoot both generator set and synchronizing controls system.
- Program, test, and connect transfer switches.
- Set up load banks as required including the programs and parameters.
- Test, measure, and verify electrical component operations, including energized components and electrical fields.
- Ensure all technical information is correct and passed to the customer including drawings, manuals and shutdown keys.
- Build strong internal and external customer relationships by engaging in positive, professional communications.
- Maintain all company tools and materials.
- Complete detailed daily time sheets, commissioning and service reports.
- Be available to participate in on call rotation for after hour calls as required.
- Work is to be performed in a safe manner and in accordance with the company HSE policies.
- Other related duties as required.

**Qualifications**
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as a power generation Field Technician.
- Journeyman Electrician with Red Seal, or related engineering technologist, or equivalent post-secondary training.
- Valid driver’s license with the ability and willingness to drive long distances.
- Working knowledge of low voltage and high voltage electrical systems.
- Working knowledge of A/C and D/C systems and equipment.
- Electrical trouble shooting skills.
- Thorough understanding and ability to read and interpret electrical single line drawings, process and instrumentation diagrams and electrical and controls schematics.
- Knowledge and experience with Rockwell PLCs and HMIs.
- Knowledge and experience with ComAP and Woodwards generator controllers.
- Experience with Jenbacher engine and generator DIA.NE control panels and Waukesha ESMs considered an asset.
- Superior customer service skills and track record.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Solid team player; work well with others to achieve shared success.
- Strong time management skills.
- The ability to work independently and efficiently with mínimal supervision.

**Working Conditions**
- Travel will be required; willing to work locally and throughout Canada, some occasional US and international travel. A valid passport and ability to enter the US is required.
- The position is primarily field based with shop and office work also expected.
