Based in North Vancouver, we design, build, and operate hydrogen fuel supply solutions to support the deployment of hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicles. Every day, we’re delivering safe, reliable, convenient, sustainable, and low-cost hydrogen to customers and consumers, how, when, and where they need it.
**Company Overview**:
HTEC is a leading developer and operator of hydrogen fuel supply infrastructure in North America that is working to enable the proliferation and use of the new long range, zero emission hydrogen fuel cell car. We are based in North Vancouver, BC, with hydrogen stations currently under construction in California and Vancouver. We are small and innovative team, which focuses on our clients, safety, and reducing society’s impact on the environment.
HTEC currently has an opportunity for a Data Manager who will be responsible for developing and managing our data management program. This role will maintain our data management systems and support capabilities including data quality, metadata management, data protection, data lineage, master data management and data lifecycle management practices for HTEC’s data assets, while ensuring that the company meets industry best practices.
**Role Description**:
The Data Manager will provide operations research analysis for high-level issue solving employing sophisticated problem-solving approaches such as optimization, data mining, statistical analysis, and mathematical modelling to provide solutions that helps HTEC function more efficiently and cost-effectively
**Key Deliverables**:
- Direct hardware development and maintenance for secure data storage
- Develop and grow a team of IT support, and data analysts
- Deal with massive data volumes, and develop the ability to glean meaningful insights from the data
- Manage equipment and business licenses related to data and outside customers
**Role Responsibilities**:
- Facilitate the growth of a Master Data Management program
- MDM Best Practices and guidelines with stewards and technical audiences
- Define and manage requirements for data matching and merging rules, survivorship criteria and data stewardship workflows that can be deployed in the endorsed MDM tool
- Develop and meet individual objectives that deliver continuous data improvements and support the achievement of the company Data Governance strategy
- Provide recommendations in consideration of business requirements and CCS data governance policies
- Identify and train data stewards on their responsibilities
- Serve as the internal expert for reports, data definitions, data quality, and data lineage
- Perform source system analysis, and data profiling for lifecycle management and handling deployments (along with our internal technology teams)
**Qualifications**:
- Minimum 5 to 7 years of related experience in a Senior Data Management role, including experience building out the data management discipline within an organization and managing others
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or related field (Master's Degree a bonus)
- A strong background in data architecture, business, and mathematics is an asset
- Understanding of data quality and ETL tools
- Expert-level understanding of data modeling and SQL
- Experience in Azure or other cloud based technologies
- Experience in MDM implementation life-cycle activities including requirements elicitation, architecture, design, test, deployment and support will be an asset
- Understanding of deterministic and probabilistic matching methodologies and master data hierarchy management
- Ability to work independently on both technical and functional sides of projects and proactively identify issues and recommend solutions
- Strong desire to continuously improve processes, programs, work-flows, and performance, aiming for optimal efficiency and to help others improve
- Experience supporting digital transitions, organizational change management, and data management processes
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships and influence others
- Strong project management skills
- Excellent analytical skills
