**What you will do**:
The Payroll and Benefits Technician is the heart of our payroll department. This is the team that ensures that all our employees are well taken care of. From processing payroll to being a benefits resource, the Payroll and Benefits Technician will play a key role in our operation.

**Responsibilities**:

- Process all company payroll and deductions accurately
- Verify timesheets, validate payroll entries and approved overtime calculations
- Enforce company policies for managing vacation pay and overtime premiums
- Administer the attendance and absence database (maternity, sickness, disability, vacation, etc.)
- Liaise with operations to ensure that employee salaries, classification and benefits are correctly entered
- Provide information to employees and answer questions related to payroll and benefit plans
- Complete, verify and process forms and documents required for the administration of benefits, such as Employment Insurance and Medicare
- Maintain direct contact with the insurer for the administrative follow-up of files

**To be successful in this position you will need**:

- Certificate or College degree in business administration, accounting, or equivalent
- Minimum of **1 year** payroll processing experience
- Excellent knowledge of the MS Office suite, particularly Excel
- Bilingualism essential (French and English)
- Level 1 certification from the Canadian Payroll Association, (an asset)
- Experience with ADP Workforce Now payroll software, (an asset)
