We’re looking for a dedicated **Building Maintenance Worker** to ensure E-Comm’s facilities and equipment are safe, reliable, and ready to support our vital emergency communications services across British Columbia.

In this role, you’ll be responsible for inspections, maintenance, and repairs at our facilities and remote radio sites, responding promptly to occupant needs and ensuring everything operates safely and efficiently. From maintaining heating and plumbing systems to ensuring fire safety equipment is in top condition, your work will play a key role in supporting the operations that keep our team and communities safe.

**WHAT YOU WILL DO**
- Conducting regular inspections of buildings, grounds, and equipment to ensure safety and functionality.
- Performing semi-skilled maintenance tasks, including plumbing, carpentry, electrical, and HVAC system repairs.
- Responding to occupant service requests and emergency calls with urgency and professionalism.
- Repairing and maintaining furniture, fixtures, and building features, such as doors, walls, floors, and ceilings.
- Preparing and painting surfaces, replacing flooring, and maintaining cleanliness standards.
- Ensuring safety by performing routine checks on fire alarms and prevention systems.
- Supporting minor building alterations, workstation configurations, and liaising with contractors for major renovations.
- Performing seasonal tasks like snow removal and salting to maintain safety.
- Keeping accurate records of work orders and maintenance reports in a computerized system.
- Performs related duties as required.
- **NOTE**: After hours and weekend on-call support may be required on a rotational basis and may include working in incremental weather, travelling between E-Comm facilities and radio sites, and overnight stays.

**WHAT YOU BRING**
- Grade 12 plus sound related experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
- 5th Class Power Engineering Certificate or working towards certification.
- Class 5 Driver’s License and clean driving record. Personal vehicle required for travel between properties, with mileage reimbursed at the company's standard rate.
- Occupational First Aid (OFA) Level 1.
- Certification of WHMIS and Technical Safety BC is an asset.
- Plumbing and AutoCAD experience is an asset.
- Knowledge of tools, materials, and methods used in building maintenance.
- Physical ability to lift/move heavy objects up to 50 lbs and operate maintenance vehicles and equipment safely.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently with mínimal supervision.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with computerized maintenance systems.

**SECURITY REQUIREMENTS**:
As a condition of employment at E-Comm, the required Police Security Clearance applicable to the position must be acquired and maintained. This is a process carried out by our law enforcement partner agencies, facilitated by E-Comm. The minimum residency in Canada to qualify for this position, as established by our law enforcement partner agencies, is 5-8 years.

**Vaccination Policy**:E-Comm 911 has a vaccination policy that is currently suspended. However, should the policy be reinstated, it will be a requirement for all current and future employees.
