Plans, prepares, and provides detailed planning and schedules for maintenance activities to improve plant overall productivity, efficiency, and cost.
Some of the essential duties of the position include: developing the weekly, monthly and annual shutdown plans based upon plant and CMMS requirements; schedule work and equipment downtime in order to meet reliability, productivity and cost reduction goals; work with area supervisors to provide job specific plans and liaise with other departments that are involved with the execution of the plan and provides administrative assistance to Mechanical Maintenance with functions such as invoice processing, cost control, filing, data management, and vacation schedules.
- Maintains SAP PM system - Code Notifications, Complete Work Orders, track KPI's, Manage Sigga System
- Creates maintenances schedules; establishes work sequences and lead time to complete major inspections and repairs.
- Review, revise and develop job plan, routes and preventive/predictive maintenance frequencies for Mechanical department based on resource availability and or cause analyses.
- Confers with department Supervisors to determine status of assigned projects.
- Identifies operations that delay schedules and alters schedules to meet unforeseen conditions.
- Prepares lists of required materials, tools, and equipment when planning critical work orders.
- Establishes and maintains a system for proper storage of materials, tools, and equipment of pre-work and parts for pending work. Works with Supervisors and Stores department in doing this.
- Responsible for facility maintenance services, including roofs, boilers, concrete paving, etc.
- Ensures that contractors meet SMC safety requirements including Browz and safety orientation status.
- Obtains quotes, enters PRs and performs follow-up for material and equipment required for maintenance.
- Prepares Capital Project Funding Requests including technical and financial justifications.
- Provides administrative assistance to Mechanical Maintenance with functions such as invoice processing, cost control, filing and data management, and vacation schedules in a timely manner.
- Initiates continuous improvement activities in SAP.
- Acts as an internal audit for ISO & safety audits, as required
- Ensures maintenance archiving and filing systems are maintained and up to date; maintains and updates the spare parts list in SAP. Drawing updates as required.
