**HR Advisor, Attendance Management**
Number of positions: 1 Job Location: Dunsmuir 10
Employment type: Permanent Region: Lower Mainland
Hours of work: Full-time (37.5 hrs/wk) Flexible Work Role: Hybrid
Annual salary: $ 87,700.00 - 110,900.00
**What you'll do**
- This position provides global oversight to BC Hydro’s Attendance Management Program and is accountable for program
design and evaluation and evolving the program to meet changing business needs.
- Accountable for identifying referrals into the Attendance Management Program, providing leadership to managers and
Human Resources and other key stakeholders to ensure there is adherence with the Attendance Management process and
all active cases are managed from inception to completion.
- Works closely with the HR Systems & Analytics team in designing and creating data extracts that enable analysis of leave
data, identifying trends, patterns and making recommendations for appropriate referral into the Attendance Management
Program.
- Develops Attendance Management Program resources (including an Attendance Management referral Package) and tools
to support Managers and HR Business Partners in handling cases in a consistent, timely and appropriate manner. This role
will also track overall case progression and provide support as required.
- Leads regular case reviews with stakeholders such as Human Resources representatives from the business, Employee
Relations, Recovery Services and WorkSafeBC Claims Management to review the status of cases/claims and develops
legally sound strategies for a mutually beneficial resolution.
- Provides leadership and technical guidance to HR and Management for resolution of complex issues to minimize
employee and or business impact and engages all essential stakeholders in determining appropriate next steps for each
case.
- Evaluates the effectiveness of the attendance management process and program tools and drives program improvement;
captures and tracks data, develops recommendations for future improvements and or program changes / enhancements.
- Develops attendance management training programs and materials with key stakeholders including Employee Relations
and delivers Attendance Management Training sessions to key audiences across the organization.
- Contributes to various Total Rewards or Health and Recovery related projects and or work process improvements. (For
example policy or program development projects, Collective Bargaining, etc.)
- Performs all other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned or required.
**What you bring**
- A Bachelor’s degree or post-secondary diploma in a related discipline (e.g. Human Resources, Disability Management,
Labour Relations)
- A minimum of five years of comprehensive experience specific to disability/leave management, human resources and/or
labour relations (or an equivalent combination of experience and specialized education) ideally within an intermediate to
large unionized environment. Experience in providing these services in a utility industry is an asset.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Knowledge of statutory requirements and legislation - Employment Standards, Human Rights Law, Workers
Compensation, etc. considered an asset.
- Knowledge of standard workplace benefits and time entry systems as well as leave policies and practices.
- Strong leadership, interpersonal and relationship building skills and the ability to work with all levels of the organization.
- Experience in program management, process design and evaluation.
- Advanced proficiency with data analytics and reporting. Experience with data visualization tools considered an asset.
- Excellent documentation skills to support all aspects of case management.
- Ability to communicate clearly and influence managers, Employee Relations, HR and others.
- Superior problem solving skills using flexibility and creativity, effective decision making ability, consulting skills and
proficiency with facilitating the resolution of multi-faceted complex issues.
- Well-developed written and verbal communication, presentation and conflict resolution skills. Ability to drive consensus
with multiple stakeholders.
- Proven ability to transfer knowledge and stay aware of current trends and technical advancements.
- Strong time management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities with multiple stakeholder
