**ROLE OVERVIEW**:This is a full-time (40 hours/week) independent contractor position with a 3-4 months term length.**
We are looking for an experienced Social Media & Community Manager to join our marketing team in support of our upcoming VR title, Journey to Foundation, as well as the studio brand at large. This role is all about fostering and growing our existing community, continuing to raise awareness of Archiact and our titles, and building a rich online presence that gives players a reason to tune in week after week and get excited about our upcoming game launch.
**ABOUT YOU**:You are the voice of the studio and our titles, but also of our players; you actively bridge the communication gap between developer and consumer. You are passionate about building and fostering online communities, particularly in the gaming space, and leverage your expert knowledge of social media trends, high-value content, and effective communication to drive progress towards those goals. The idea of working within a tightly collaborative marketing team excites you; you are eager to share your best ideas, and to uplift those of your peers. Whether playing VR or traditional games, your love of interactive experiences runs deep, as does your understanding of the often complex culture that surrounds modern gaming.
**RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Collaborate with the Marketing Manager to create, improve, or adjust the social media, content, and customer support strategy.
- Collaborate with the Content Creator to plan and execute a monthly content calendar of high-quality written, image, and video content to raise brand/game awareness, drive engagement, and foster community.
- Assign tasks in a timely manner and monitor the progress of the content creation workflow. Schedule content a week in advance, and post manually where required.
- Monitor, engage, and nurture an online community through Discord.
- Identify unique opportunities for social engagement as they arise, and propose micro-campaigns to take advantage of trends.
- Provide recurring reports on social media/digital marketing success metrics, and suggest proven methods for improvements on future campaigns and content.
- Perform hashtag research to implement on relevant social media channels.
- Write, review, and polish copy, tailoring for brand voice and social media channel.
- Respond to questions and comments through social media & Discord, and engage with relevant accounts across social media platforms.
- Plan, write, and distribute written content pieces such as blog posts and/or articles.
**REQUIREMENTS**
**MUST HAVE**:
- 2+ years experience managing social media, and 1+ years contributing to community efforts. Experience in the games industry a plus.
- **Social media copy work sample(s) demonstrating copywriting skills.**:
- Deep understanding of leading social media platforms (Eg. TikTok, Twitter, YouTube, etc.) including algorithm best practices, relevant audiences, and trends.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, particularly when performing customer service, adopting various brand voices online, or coordinating with teammates and consumers.
- Staunch attention to detail, with a diligent eye for visual and textual quality.
- Deep knowledge of video games, video game marketing content, and understanding of relevant audiences.
- Exceptional organisation and collaboration skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
- Proficiency with social media/support management software such as Hootsuite, Buffer, Sprout, Zendesk, etc.
**NICE TO HAVE**:
- Experience with Atlassian software.
- Knowledge of virtual reality and VR games
