**About**:
PAQ is an indigenous organization that supports First Nations, Inuit and Métis people facing housing insecurity in Tio'tià: ke / Montreal. Using a culturally appropriate approach based on empowerment and harm reduction, we provide housing options, accommodation and services that promote wellness and healing, and strengthen community. We work in partnership with others to promote the health and housing rights of urban Indigenous peoples.
The goals of PAQ’s transition programmes are to prevent homelessness and to assist First Nations, Inuit and Metis women and men to achieve greater stability. While one of the two programmes is focused on supporting residents in active therapy and work towards maintaining their sobriety and long-term housing; the second programme is aimed at supporting residents in developing increased autonomy and explore life goals (education, work, etc.). Both programmes aim to create a safe environment where residents can learn important life skills to live autonomously, and access resources necessary for their individual development, healing, and wellbeing. Emphasis is placed on activities that encourage participants to contribute to the development of a new healthy and safe community within the city.
