**The Opportunity**:
- Reporting to the Vice President of our People Team, you will be the head of the Global Total Rewards function and will provide strategic and tactical leadership in the creation, maintenance, and ongoing review of current global compensation and benefit programs to ensure that programs are competitive, consistent and compliant. You will lead the Executive Compensation work to include supporting the Compensation Committee meeting preparation and planning, development of the annual CD&A and proxy disclosures and execution of programs developed.At Ritchie Bros., our People Team function is a strategic partner in the ongoing and future success of the business. This position is ideal for a professional and well experienced executive who desires working within a highly collaborative People Team.
- In this role you’ll:_- Actively support the RB Unreserved Commitment to Safety: to send everyone home, every day, the way they came to work, by taking personal responsibility for your safety and safety of your team, co-workers and customers.- Create strategy, processes and plans to build competitive compensation and benefits packages to support the organization talent management program.
- Craft and execute a global total rewards philosophy and transformation plan to further establish a global ‘Centre of Excellence’ that supports the business growth and needs.
- Proactively review current compensation and benefit programs structures and assess effectiveness and compliance with appropriate laws and regulations. Align compensation programs with business objectives.
- Work with external vendors for market competitiveness; represent Company on various compensation forums to ensure proper benchmarking of positions.
- Manage yearly plan changes and annual salary and incentive compensation within budget and per program principles; design/drive annual long-term incentive process.
- Design, execute and manage the Sales incentive programs in partnership with the VP Sales Effectiveness, Finance and Sales Leaders.
- Manage the administration of sales compensation programs, commission payments, etc.
- Partner with business leaders in the establishment and execution of People Team programs to drive strategic business goals.
- Lead development of Compensation and Benefits policies and procedures and ensure all programs are administered in accordance with them.
- Leads, coaches and develops a team of compensation, benefits and payroll professionals.
- Work with generalist staff on development and implementation of promotions, sign-on bonuses, equity adjustments, and other compensation actions.
- Support the Chief People Officer and Chair of the Compensation Committee in the planning, preparation and execution of Compensation Committee activities.
- Support the annual Proxy process and own the development of the CD&A and related proxy disclosures.
- Remain current of Compensation and Benefits practices and advise on regulatory changes, stock-plan advisor or other external advisory activities to ensure program design is current.
- Support M&A activity, including international M&A activity, as they relate to Compensation and Benefits.
- Partner with Finance in regards to budget planning, benefit and compensation costs.
- Develop effective and compelling compensation benefits training and communications strategies, tools and processes to optimize perceived value, improve employee engagement and ensure regulatory compliance.

- Provide Leadership to the People Team Systems and Payroll teams.
- Here’s what you bring:_
- Fifteen years of relevant experience, including experience leading a team of professionals.
- Strong working knowledge of People Team related functions and regulatory and statutory requirements as they relate to benefits, compensation and payroll.
- Experience in working with the Compensation Committee of the Board of Directors in a publicly traded company.
- Experience in compensation plan design and implementation for a public company, specifically a US Domestic issuer and/or US Publicly traded company.
