**About EducationPlannerBC**
**Position Summary**
Reporting to the Director, Marketing and Engagement, the Engagement Manager leads the development, implementation, and evaluation of EPBC’s engagement initiatives that connects people to post-secondary education and career information.
The Engagement Manager is responsible for reaching students and their supporters through community engagement activities, with a focus on working with schools and school districts throughout the province, to promote and increase awareness of EPBC’s brand and services and support the transition to public post-secondary education in B.C.
This role is accountable for the successful management of EducationPlannerBC’s engagement work which includes facilitating the planning and coordination of engagement activities; building and maintaining positive community partnerships; and providing leadership and direction to engagement staff. The Engagement Manager supports the engagement staffs’ duties as needed, including delivering presentations and participating at events.
**Key Accountabilities & Time Allocation**
The following provides an approximate allocation of time for key accountabilities and a representative list of duties. From time to time, this position will be expected to undertake other duties and responsibilities as necessitated by its evolving position within the organization or the business objectives of the organization.
**Team Management and Support** (25%)
- Champion a culture of collaboration, service excellence (internally and externally), client focus, and continuous improvement across the engagement team, entire organization, and with stakeholders
- Ensure team members are kept informed and engaged by sharing team and organizational progress, initiatives, and achievements
- Provide leadership and direction to team members through recruitment, coaching, mentoring, developing and promoting professional development opportunities, and inspiring a team approach to achieve goals
- Manage the performance of team members by setting goals, directing workflow, removing barriers that impede productivity, and evaluating performance
- In consultation with the Marketing & Engagement team, ensure appropriate support is in place during absences
**Engagement and Outreach Management** (65%)
- With oversight from the Director, Marketing & Engagement, and in collaboration with the Marketing and Engagement team, develop a strategic approach and work plan for EPBC’s engagement, including planning, resource allocation, communication support, execution, and evaluation reporting
- In collaboration with the Director, Marketing and Engagement, proactively develop new and innovative engagement opportunities and delivery methods
- Research and identify outreach opportunities to engage underserved or remote communities, and specialized populations
- Provide guidance to Marketing and Engagement team in proactively building community partnerships and strengthening relationships for engagement activities
- Manage the process to review, develop, and maintain relevant presentation content and scripts
- Support collateral and other materials for EPBC engagement that are customized for specialized populations and inclusive to all audiences
- Oversee the planning and delivery of branded merchandise and printed collateral and provide guidance on resources for engagement activities
- Stay current with new and emerging tools and trends in engagement practice and work processes, and recommend ideas for integration with EPBC
- Promote and create awareness of EPBC at events, working with the Marketing & Communications Specialist to leverage participation
- Represent EPBC at educational related events such as education and career fairs, schools and community events to promote and increase awareness among students/applicants, supporters, post-secondary institution representatives, and community groups
**Operational and Reporting Support**(10%)
- Manage team travel operations for engagement activities, including overseeing scheduling, staff resourcing, planning, and budgeting travel
- Oversee the maintenance of a database of contacts and their association to engagement activities
- Manage evaluation and reporting of engagement activities, implementing measures and processes
- Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with internal and external partners
- Stay up-to-date on current post-secondary environment and trends, within BC and across Canada
- Perform other related duties as assigned
**Competency Requirements**
- Strong managerial skills, including motivating, developing, coaching and leading teams
- Ability to promote cooperation, collaboration and partnerships between individuals or groups both within and outside EPBC
