Guidance Counsellor

This position will commence late August 2025.

Lauremont School, formerly TMS, is a leading independent day school in Richmond Hill, Ontario that offers the Montessori and International Baccalaureate pedagogies. **Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to**:

- Conduct individual and/or group counseling sessions with a view to supporting students in their development of social and academic skills
- Deliver personalized guidance and support to help students navigate social-emotional, academic, and behavioral challenges while fostering their growth and potential.
- Teach Grades 7-9 Guidance courses
- Partner with the Middle School Coordinator to monitor social emotional needs in the Middle School
- Contribute to the co-curricular program
- Work with the team to support student life at the Upper School

**Qualifications, Experience and Attributes**:

- Bachelor’s Degree in Education
- Ontario College of Teachers Certification with intermediate/senior school qualifications
- Guidance Specialist qualifications with a minimum of 3 years of Guidance experience expertise
- University counselling experience an asset
- Familiarity with Careers course an asset.
- Demonstrated experience in career counseling and social-emotional support
- Passion for working with the Middle School learner
- Independent School experience is an asset
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A current Vulnerable Sector Check
- Current First Aid CPR, and AED
