**What does a Sales Associate do?**
As a Sales Associate for The Veganist, you will be the company's public face. The sales associate is responsible for handling customer questions about products and services. Sales associates must be willing to keep up to date on their knowledge of the store's products, services, and policies.
Under the Foods portion of this role, you will also be tasked with preparing and baking product for the day/week in-store.
Customer service is a critical part of this position. Turning a frustrated customer into a happy customer while adhering to company policies requires empathy, consideration, and kindness in any given situation.
Another key responsibility is maintaining the presentation of the sales floor, products, signage, and displays. All products must be faced regularly to ensure that the store looks full and presentable.
**Sales Associate Responsibilities**:
*Greeting customers, responding to questions, improving engagement with merchandise, and providing outstanding customer service. *Operating cash registers, managing financial transactions, and balancing drawers. *Achieving established goals. *Directing customers to merchandise within the store. *Upselling where possible. *Superior product knowledge. *Maintaining a tidy appearance throughout the sales floor. *Introducing promotions and opportunities to customers. *Cross-selling. *Rotating stock to ensure food safe/health department requirements are met and reducing food waste.
**Sales Associate Requirements**:
*High school diploma. *Retail sales experience. *Coffee Shop or Bakery Experience *High level of professionalism. *Maintain a positive attitude and focus on customer satisfaction in a fast-paced environment. *The ability to read, write, and perform basic math. *The ability to stand and walk for extended periods. *The ability to lift 40 pounds. *Willingness to continuously learn and keep an open mind to the plant-based lifestyle. *FoodSafe Level 1 is an asset but not required.
Available shifts and compensation: We have available shifts all days of the week. Compensation is $17.90 - $18.50/hour.
