Haul Truck Operator

**NECHAKO PLATEAU CONSTRUCTION**
**Location**: 160 KM South of Vanderhoof, Camp at Blackwater Gold Mine.
The Utility Operator(s) will be responsible for maintaining, operating, and servicing various sizes of excavator, dozer, grader, and rock truck on the work site to support the civil operation with regard to site preparation and road work construction.
**Duties & Responsibilities**:
- Work safely in a construction site and promote a safe work environment adhering to safety policies and procedures including participation in daily safety meetings
- Responsible for daily maintenance and safety inspections of their assigned piece of equipment, as outlined in Nechako Plateau Construction Ltd’s equipment policy
- Responsible for maintaining pre-trip inspections/activity logs
- Operators are to operate their equipment in a manner as not to cause damage to the equipment or any surrounding structures or impediments and to do so safely to ensure the safety of themselves and others onsite
- Operators are expected to work with the Foreman to perform various tasks including but not limited to, excavations both bulk and/or detailed excavation, utility installations, grading, ditching, sloping etc. in accordance with the project specifications
- Ensure effective communication on progress and any potential issues are brought to the attention of the Foreman and/or Safety Officer on site
**Qualifications, Experience & Skills**:
- Job requires the ability to complete work projects in an efficient and timely manner and adhere to strict schedules
- 5+ years operating experience operating on civil plant site works
- Must be able to understand grading plans/stakes and drawings and complete to finish grade
- Maintain expected quality results of work to be done
- Maintain equipment and promptly report any maintenance issues to the Foreman on site
- Good communication ability, able to work with variety of individuals
- Good management and organization skills are essential
- Work well as a team with other crew members on daily activities
- Excellent understanding of safety and ability to identify, communicate and propose solutions to safety issues as they arise
- Receptive to coaching
- Flexibility, including working overtime and weekends, as needed
- Must possess valid Class 5 Drivers License and provide a drivers abstract What we offer

**Salary**: $35.00-$40.00 per hour
