**Job Overview**
Responsible for direct-to-farm sales, the Farm Specialist builds a pipeline of qualifying leads that translate into sales for our product suite. The Farm Sales Specialist is a lead information conduit between customers and the commercial leader, where the Voice of the Customer is reflected inside the company.
The Farm Sales Specialist provides leadership in executing aspects of the sales process, marketing plan and supports taking our product to market to generate revenue.

**Responsibilities and Duties**
- Create, nurture and qualify farmer leads to close deals
- Develop strong pre & post-sale relationships with farmers
- Provide on-site training to use SomaDetect software
- Work in-between product, marketing and sales to grow and retain customers
- Handle sales process from leads and quote to close
- Keep management informed by submitting activity and result reports such as daily call reports, weekly work plans, and monthly and annual territory analyses
- Attend conferences and industry events to promote the company and attract new customers;
- Recommend changes in products, service, and policy by evaluating results and competitive developments;
- Perform cost-benefit (ROI) and needs analysis of existing/potential customers to meet their needs;
- Continuously improve product by collecting feedback and sharing it with management;
- Achieve agreed upon sales targets and outcomes within schedule.

**Qualifications**
- 2 to 4 year degree, or relevant experience
- Minimum of 3 years of dairy knowledge & experience
- Valid Driving license with a clean driving record
- Deep understanding of Milk Quality, Dairy Nutrition and Reproduction are a plus
- Experience working with a CRM (HubSpot)
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Strong problem solving, decision-making, project and time management skills
- Ability to identify opportunities and prospects, build customer relationships and close sales

**Working Conditions**
This position is a field based position that requires approximately 50% travel within your defined territory, nationally and internationally. (Not all travel will require overnight stays) This position involves a high volume of time visiting client sites (farms, industrial settings, etc). The role requires schedule flexibility, including availability some nights and weekends, to adapt to time zones & travel requirements.

Physical Requirements*
This position is mostly fieldwork. There will be time each week for office work which will require a personal computer, visually inspecting documents and forms, and occasionally lifting and/or moving up to 20 pounds. Fieldwork will involve working in outdoor environments in varied climate conditions, working with livestock, and requires general flexibility and mobility.
