Job Description
Mainframe Job Description:
Resource has to be located on-shore in Canada, with access to the two data centres in the Toronto GTA, to support various clients such as Government of British Columbia, Global Payments.
This service supports mostly run activities such as dealing with critical mainframe incidents, batch and IPL's for various clients. This service is provided 24/7 responding to all critical incidents, and requests which could result in missed SLO's/SLA's. Monitoring system consoles, troubleshooting and escalating MVS and subsystem issues, performing MVS changes. Starting/stopping IMS and CICS regions. Stopping/starting/inserting batch jobs and batch streams. Monitor and control the running of all batch jobs using the job scheduling and restart software. Verify production on-lines and databases, batch processing and output meets departmental SLA’s and quality assurance levels. Observe operation of all computer platforms, operating software, networks, servers and computer resources for optimal system availability and report any deviations from standard. Assist with production backup processing of Disaster Recovery offsite tapes and library system housekeeping.
- Primary/MUST have Skills:
Minimum 5 years experience.
Mainframe background. Knowledge of Tandem would be good.
Should be able to work in challenging environment.
Should be able to work in a 24/7 shift environment.
Should be a team player and ready to work during flexible hours
Understanding of RTPA
Service continuity / Disaster recovery knowledge
Sharepoint
Able to handle multiple customers and associated mailboxes
Understanding of ticketing tools such as Service Manager and Service Now
