**THE OPPORTUNITY**
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment by educating and directing employees on the use of equipment and resources while maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.
- Maintain quality and legislative requirements by adhering to and enforcing Good Manufacturing Practices and Standard Operating Procedures
- Plan, direct, engage and understand daily production operations while anticipating and troubleshooting production problems.
- Complete production plan by scheduling and assigning employees, establishing priorities, revising schedules and resolving problems.
- Measure performance and achieve continuous improvements in processes to implement cost reductions and maximize efficiency while continuing to maintain quality and food safety standards.
- Strive to continuously improve employee relations, yields, labour results, equipment, personal job knowledge.
- Develop, direct, manage, train and motivate employees by communicating job expectations, appraising job results, coaching, counselling and disciplining employees.
- Determine manpower requirements based on schedule and allergens to schedule
- Maintain a safe working environment within the department to comply with the Occupational Health & Safety Act.
- Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and take necessary action to correct.
- Record and calculate production levels in accordance with company procedures.
- Organize materials for production schedule

THE REQUIREMENTS
- Secondary School diploma
- 3-5 years experience in the meat industry
- Prior supervisory experience
- Mechanical aptitude an asset
- First aid certificate preferred
- Forklift certificate preferred
- HACCP certified
- A highly motivated, self-starter with excellent problem-solving skills.
