Registered Social Worker or Psychotherapist
Independent Contractor
Etobicoke, Danforth, or Riverdale
In collaboration with the Ministry of the Solicitor General, we are seeking a registered social worker or psychotherapist with experience supporting marginalized folks dealing with complex life challenges including mental health, addictions, social exclusion, and involvement with the justice system.
The Opportunity:
- An independent contract providing in-person counselling to assigned cases referred by the Ministry of the Solicitor General, in a probation and parole office.
- Our Gov't Services Counsellors:
- Support mandated clients by providing medium-term counselling to assigned cases;-
- Communicate on clients' behalf, with express consent, with external professionals;-
- Follow the Government Counselling Services client services model and administrative requirements;-
- Meet the company's contractual obligations to the Ministry of the Solicitor General, Ontario.-
- Paid for utilization, not on a case-by-case basis- What we're looking for:
- Master's degree in Counselling, Psychology or Social Work;-
- Professional College membership in Ontario and valid professional liability insurance;-
- Minimum two (2) years post-graduate counselling experience;-
- Ability to work with various types of clients presenting a wide variety of issues and good knowledge of local community resources;-
- Strong clinical assessment skills with ability to promote community adaptation and integration;-
- Ability to set short term objectives and work from a strength-based model;-
- Availability to provide in person support during business hours.A bit about us
