Homes Coordinator

**Major Duties and Responsibilities**:
- Learn and understand the Identity and Mission of L’Arche; adhere to the core documents of L’Arche Stratford (e.g. key traditions, policies and procedures, the Charter of L’Arche, etc.); maintain confidentiality as required.
- Ensure support for the physical, emotional, spiritual, vocational, health, and recreational needs of all core members are in place; provide leadership to House and Program Leaders and the Health Care Leader in developing Individual Support Plans (ISPs) and Behaviour Support Plans (BSPs); ensure all necessary Ministry compliance measures related to service delivery are in place and maintained; ensure service records are maintained; coordinate the intake process of new core members; coordinate the transition of core members out of the community.
- Maintain Chair of the Health and Safety Committee; ensure all health and safety policies and procedures are adhered to; ensure fire safety regulations and plans are in place; liaise with maintenance professionals to ensure scheduled and unexpected maintenance needs are addressed.
- Support the orientation and formation of Leaders new to the role; ensure stability and continuity of services in times of transition; support the growth of Leaders through the Servant Leadership review process; support the growth of the community through active involvement in Servant Leadership processes.
- Communicate effectively with family members and professional service providers; ensure family members and other important delegates are involved in support planning and annual reviews as needed; coordinate meetings with professional service providers and family members, coordinate and participate in meetings with government and ministry officials.
- Oversee the management of all core member finances; manage areas of the community budget that pertain to the role; supervise House and Program Leaders in managing house budgets.
- Be an active participant of the regional Homes Coordinator Group; contribute to policy and procedure development and revision relevant to service delivery.
- Be an active member of the Leadership/Coordination Team; be the Leader on-call as part of a regular rotation with other members of the Leadership Team; update and liaise with the Leadership Team as required, or when issues require immediate attention.
- Participate in regular meetings; facilitate House and Program meetings; invite and integrate direction, feedback and support in one-on-one meetings and on a day-to-day basis; actively participate in roles and goals meetings with the Community Leader/delegate.
- Be an active member of the community; develop meaningful relationships in the homes and community; be present to core and community members; support celebrations in the home and involvement in life of the community; provide leadership as required at community meetings and gatherings; participate in and support house traditions, prayer and personal reflection; be open to the spiritual life at L’Arche; provide support for core members’ spiritual practices.
**Qualifications**:
- Previous L’Arche experience (assistant, board member, volunteer, etc.) or equivalent
- Post-secondary degree or certificate
- Fluent in spoken and written English, French or both
- Clear police check including vulnerable sector screening
- Ability to admit mistakes and learn; asks for and accepts help when needed
- Ability to be flexible and manage the stress of multi-faceted responsibilities and supervision
- Can remain calm, and focused in times of uncertainty and crisis, and can give clear directions.
- Works collaboratively, models and promotes conflict resolution
- Is organized and able to set priorities and follow-through on commitments in a timely fashion
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Good administrative skills, organized and demonstrates time management skills
- Ability to problem solve, assist in reaching solutions and obtaining necessary resources
- Valid driver’s license, and excellent driving record.
- Knowledge of community computer software (could specify)
