**JOB BRIEF**
The Virtual Reality Technical Production Manager supervises the development team to ensure that all essential specifications of the training modules are met and delivered on time. The Technical production manager should have prior software development experience and be able to track and implement industry trends and support the team to navigate rapidly evolving technologies. This position will lead and facilitate assigned team activities such as team meetings, interventions and contract deliverables for the VR training module development. The Technical Production Manager will oversee the technical development team and report directly to the project manager.
- **Our Technology**:_
The Learning Management System is comprised of 3 key components.
1) A web-based, database-driven content creation and management system designed to build courses, modules and content.
2) A 360 Interactive editor tool that allows VR assessment, navigation, video, text and related Interactive elements to be programmed overtop of 360 videos.
3) A 360 VR app/player that connects the interactive VR content (built with 2. editor) with the web-based LMS content/courses/modules and plays In VR headsets.
- **Externally**:_
The Technical Production Manager should be able to collaborate and guide production initiatives to design and create learning/training and assessment “experiences” which can then be marketed/distributed to communities and organizations. They should be able to provide insights and design direction to the production and 360-film crew and work with the team on the creation of storyboards for learning initiatives.
**MUST HAVES**
- Experience working collaboratively
- Experience managing a team
- Experience working directly with 360 video or video production capacity
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Strong Knowledge of VR technology,
- Ability to converse with key decision-makers within and outside the organization and be comfortable with negotiation;
- Excellent networking and relationship building with experience in employer engagement;
- Excellent customer service, communication skills and presentation skills required;
- Must be organized and possess the ability to plan, track and report on progress.
- **Preferred Experience**:_
- An asset to have working knowledge of Git, Hands on experience working with JIRA
- Previous experience in the LMS space is an asset
- An asset to have experience coding/programming and building apps in Unity/App 3D
- An asset to have knowledge in C# and object-oriented programming
- An asset to have knowledge of basic and advanced Unity/app concepts such as
- Modular prefab implementation
- Experience with building for WebGL and Standalone
- Familiarity profiling and optimizing game and render performance with the Unity/app profiler
- **Education requirements**_:_
- Production Management Certification and/or equivalent experience
- Coding and software development certification
- Knowledge of 3D: history, tools, design methodology
- Ability to work with our existing App built within the Unity Framework to have our LMS speak/work with the VR headsets
- **Additional requirements**:_
- Must have a valid G Class driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
- Willingness to travel to various communities throughout Northern Ontario.
- Required to travel by aircraft
**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Lead the coding team to implement and maintain features:
- VR Editing/Authoring tool.
- Build/Improve on features within our Oculus Quest 2 VR Generation One
Application.
- Oversee and contribute to Strategic Development Plan for products/department
- Ensure all productions are project managed effectively and on schedule
- Collaborate with team members and other departments to deliver potentially large and complex features on time and to a high standard
- Be part of the development process and contribute improvements and suggestions, driving the quality of the code sprint to sprint
- Mentor teammates and ensure the team maintains code, product, and process quality
- Ability to take technical ownership for product or production features
- Oversee the development or training modules
- **Partner Engagement**_
- Oversee the development or training modules working with the VR Training Developer to collaborate to ensure the integrity and efficiency of each module
- Lead in the review and analysis of LMS systems and define parameters for integration where appropriate
- Oversee research and development software platform integrations and prepare recommendations for various integrations with our present system. Ie. D2L - Brightspace
- Identify employer partner systems and prepare recommendations for integration for production team
