Structural Layout

**Position Title**: Structural Layout - High-rise

**Location**: Vancouver, BC

**Availability**: Weekdays (With overtime/ weekends Availability)

Being a concrete formwork company, we specialize in the construction of high-rise buildings. Our structural formwork division is looking to hire an experienced ‘Structural Layout - High-rise’ to join our team.

The formwork construction layout/Surveyor works closely with the Site Superintendent, project managers, and foremen to oversee the layout of projects by using survey equipment, preparing as-builts, read and interpreting construction drawings to calculate formwork features needed for our field teams.

**Roles and Responsibilities**:

- Initiate control of work site from Legal Survey and maintain survey points for accuracy.
- Calculate coordinates from drawings and specifications.
- Layout all vertical elements and horizontal slab edge
- Stake heights on vertical elements - columns, walls, cores
- Lay down Grid lines for trades and formwork assembly
- Compare structural and architectural drawings for discrepancies and provide solutions as needed
- Verify shop drawings for the elevator and steel structures
- Install anchors, beams, and embed plates for structural steel as per drawings for elevator, windows, and roof slabs
- Set up CAD drawings for layout use
- Laser-level horizontal formwork
- Perform preliminary, construct, and update as-built drawings.
- Quality check poured slabs and vertical for accuracy as per the plans and tolerances mentioned in the contract
- Operates and maintains survey equipment ensuring updates to survey equipment are generated.
- Provide quality control by checking for accuracy at all control points, benchmarks, gridlines, survey marks, elevations, and stakeout points. Will also monitor the site for correct elevations and locations.
- Work directly with superintendents, project managers, and foremen ensuring all are informed of project requirements, timelines, and obligations.
- Other related duties as and when required based on various projects.

**Requirements**:

- Minimum of 4 years experience in formwork construction Layout/Surveying
- Experience in reading and interpreting construction drawings/ blueprints: 4 years (preferred)
- Knowledge of surveying equipment and software including but not limited to Microsoft office and AutoCAD.
- Formwork carpentry experience is considered an asset (not mandatory)

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $40.00-$65.00 per hour

Flexible language requirement:

- French not required

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday
- Overtime
- Weekends as needed

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Vancouver, BC: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)

**Experience**:

- Formwork Construction: 5 years (preferred)
- reading construction drawings/blueprints: 3 years (preferred)
- Formwork Construction Layout/Surveying: 4 years (preferred)
