Through our wholly-owned subsidiary, Pacific Coast Terminals Co. Ltd. (“PCT”), we operate a state-of-the-art deep-sea tidewater terminal located on the Burrard Inlet in Port Moody, BC. We provide world-class tidewater terminal handling solutions for bulk commodity exporters of Sulphur, Potash, Ethylene glycol, and Canola oil. Employees across the organization enjoy a competitive and extensive compensation and benefits plan with the ability to foster personal and professional growth. **THE OPPORTUNITY**: **Key Responsibilities/Results** - Operational Management: Supervise the implementation of the Enterprise Health, Safety, and Environmental Management Systems, collaborating closely with internal teams and external stakeholders. - Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with regulatory bodies and standards by conducting audits, reviewing existing health, safety, and environmental policies, advising employees on procedures, delivering training sessions, and addressing incidents and injuries. Provide regular updates and reports to the Manager. - Incident Prevention: Promote health, safety, and environmental awareness across the enterprise, educating employees through open communication, collaborative hazard assessments, and risk mitigation efforts. Assist in policy creation for a safer, environmentally responsible work environment. - Sustainability Execution: Execute key aspects of the Enterprise’s sustainability goals and associated Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) responsibilities, under the guidance of the Manager. **Key Actions**: - Ensure the Enterprise’s health, safety, and environmental management systems are kept current and that all employees are informed of relevant regulations, policies, and standards, maintaining due diligence under the guidance of the Manager. - Leads the site health & safety committee ensuring compliance with all applicable legislation in which we operate. Ensure that our current practices are aligned in the provinces in which we operate - Assist in the development and implementation of health, safety, and environmental training programs across all levels of the enterprise, under the direction of the Manager. - Facilitate the collection and reporting of health and safety statistics, ensuring adherence to required timelines. - Lead initial incident investigations with HSE coordinator, involving appropriate stakeholders in the review process, conducting root cause analyses, and ensuring timely remediation. Provide findings and recommendations to the Manager. - Lead certification and audit activities including Certificate of Recognition (COR) program for the enterprise. - Assists with the workforce plan and development of a high-performance Enterprise Health, Safety and Environment team through individual growth and accountability needed to ensure business needs are met. - Compiles and submits safety and environmental reports as required by regulatory agencies and voluntary programs (i.e. Climate Smart). Facilitates inspections by environmental agencies and generates internal reports on safety and environmental activities - Provides support across all aspects of the company to promote a world class culture in regard to people, safety and the environment and is able to travel up to 10 nights per year. - Engages with Indigenous communities and supports procurement and project management that show material support for those communities within the company operates. **Education and Credentials**: - Professional designation in health and safety management or equivalent experience and education. - Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, preferably within a relevant or comparable industry or on-site experience - An understanding of rail systems, and cargo vessels is an asset. - Experience in heavy industry and unionized environments is an asset. **Competencies**: - Understanding of health & safety systems and knowledge of applicable Labour Canada, Workers Compensation regulations and applicable environmental regulations. - Knowledge of the business and understanding of how our service offering impacts our Health, Safety and Environmental Management Systems - Conveys ideas and facts using language the recipient understands not only the meaning but the why behind the words. - Promotes cooperation and commitment within a team to achieve goals and deliverables. - Strategic planning skills and the ability to analyze information from a ra
