**SUMMARY**:
Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, the Shipping & Receiving Agent is responsible for shipping and receiving all parts for our internal and external customers in a timely and cost-effective manner. The Shipping & Receiving agent is also responsible for inventory control, managing records of all products shipped and received from our worldwide operations. They will also package goods in shipping containers, develop mailing labels and TGD shipping documents to ensure that all orders have been filled correctly.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES**:

- Prepare all necessary documentation for local, domestic, and international shipments
- Research and implement all customs, and dangerous goods shipping regulations for both ground and air shipments
- Work directly with local carriers, freight forwarders, and third-party carriers, to obtain quotes for all outgoing shipments
- Monitor and report on all out-going shipping costs
- Performing packing and unpacking of shipments and deliveries
- Picking up and delivering shipments within Calgary and the surrounding area with the company truck
- Preparing shipping documents and ensuring that they are in compliance with HAZMAT and DG shipping regulations
- Maintaining records of incoming, and outgoing shipments and material usage via entries to Great Plains and Job Boss
- Consolidating shipping orders
- Back up resources in preforming data entry tasks such as receiving materials, inventory transactions and job close-out
- Accurately process customer transactions such as orders, quotes, invoices, or returns
- Participates in quarterly inventory counts
- Collaborates and interacts with Sales, Purchasing, Engineering, Suppliers and Customers
- Encourage safe work practices in others, communicate to Supervisor areas where safety training and enforcement is needed, and adhere to Health & Safety Program (HSE) initiatives.
- Perform all other related duties as assigned

**QUALIFICATIONS & COMPENTENCIES**:

- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum 7 years’ experience as a shipping agent
- Minimum 3 years’ experience managing International Shipments
- Experience handling and shipping dangerous goods.
- 1 or more years’ experience operating a forklift (will provide training)
- Holds a valid class 5 driver’s license with good driving record
- TDG training certification for shipping lithium batteries by ground and air is required (will provide training)
- FedEx, UPS, WorldShip, Freight routing, BOL experience
- Experience managing air and ocean freight shipments
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively both written and verbal
- Excellent time management skills
- Strong team player with the ability to build strong, collaborative relationships with Sales, Purchasing, Engineering, Suppliers and Customers.
- Self-motivated, with strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work under pressure and achieve deadlines
- Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail

**WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS**:

- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk or workstation
- Repetitive hand and arm movements
- Capable of lifting and carrying equipment, tools, or material weighing up to 50 lbs. This may involve moving or setting up equipment for testing or demonstration
- Frequent reaching, grasping, pushing or pulling, bending or twisting motions
- Walking and standing for extended periods during site inspections, meetings, or while supervising construction or manufacturing processes
- Standing, bending, or kneeling to access equipment, perform on-site assessments, operate machinery, handle delicate components or perform detailed inspections
- Occasional travel to client sites or other company facilities may be required
- Ability to respond quickly and effectively in emergency situations including the ability to move quickly from job sites or perform urgent troubleshooting
- Working in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures and noise levels. May involve exposure to battery chemicals or other materials used in the assembly process.
