Teacher Assistant is responsible for providing support to the classroom teacher for a group of children 4 months to 5 years of age. Willowbrae Academy® will employ Teacher Assistants to works under the supervision of classroom Teachers, Monday to Friday depending on classroom needs and financial availability.
**Minimum Qualifications**:
It is recommended, but not mandatory, that a Teacher's Assistant have a degree or certificate in Early Childhood Education and/ or Special Needs, and previous experience in working within these fields. A valid First Aid and Infant CPR certification are also required as well as a clear child abuse registry and criminal record check.
**Responsibilities**:
- Work with children who may or may not have special needs between the ages of 4 months to 5 years
- Offer input into the design and implementation of individual program plans
- Assist in the classroom with activities related to the program
- Assist with the preparation of art and craft material as directed by the teaching staff
- Assist with gross motor activities (indoor and outdoor)
- Assist with the feeding programs as directed by the teaching staff
- Assist with language activities such as reading stories, using the flannel board, and puppets
- Share in the children's experiences during the day by being responsive and interested
- Assist and join in music and movement activities
- Be energetic, flexible, and present a positive attitude
- Exhibit positive and professional work habits such as punctuality, dependability, and confidentiality
- Ensure requested data and metrics are provided accurately and timely
- Such other related tasks as requested by the company from time to time
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $19.50-$21.50 per hour
