**The Opportunity**

The Charge Hand is responsible for leading a team of Technicians. This position is responsible for developing apprentices, increasing efficiency, and establishing priorities. Strong technical skills, ability to think outside the box, and strong organizational skills are essential to seamless, safe, and cost-effective way of operating. The Charge Hand position is also responsible for completing necessary paperwork and ensuring that proper communication channels are being utilized.

**Essential Duties & Responsibilities**
- Perform work as assigned by the Dispatcher, and assign work to Technicians as needed
- Communicate with the Shop Coordinator on current and upcoming jobs
- Perform repair work on customer’s machines, completing all necessary paperwork
- Provide support to the Shop Coordinator and Dispatcher when discussing technical repairs with customers
- Work closely with Lead hand, Dispatcher, Service Manager and/or Tech Support as required
- Proactively identify maintenance and repair opportunities on equipment
- Ensure all Technicians are following current warranty processes as outlined by the manufacturer
- Responsible for quality control of all ongoing and completed jobs in the shop
- Ensure Leavitt safety initiatives and best practices are upheld
- Communicate effectively with the Parts department on the status of parts for ongoing jobs
- Additional duties may be assigned as required

**Required Skills & Qualifications**:

- Provincial Heavy Duty Journeyperson’s ticket is required
- 10+ years' prior work experience as a ticketed technician
- Previous Lead Hand or leadership experience
- Previous aerial platform and lift truck experience is considered an asset
- High-school diploma
- Valid driver’s license supported by driver’s abstract
- Strong computer and trouble shooting skills.
