**We are seeking a Lab Technician to Join our Team**

**Position Overview**

As the Lab Technician, you will report to the Textile Engineering Manager and be responsible for evaluating and conducting tests on têxtiles. We need a hands-on and communicative individual to manage and develop operational activities related to approving têxtiles for testing and approval on our seating products.

**Responsibilities**
- Design and test têxtiles per SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures), AATCC, ASTM, ISO standard methods.
- Responsible for required setup, maintenance, cleaning, and operation of têxtiles testing equipment.
- Adhere to safety regulations and wears required PPE while maintaining ongoing training, including following SOPs, maintaining equipment, and properly documenting of lab notes and logbooks.
- Provide technical assistance and testing knowledge to enhance production and manufacturing processes.
- Create and maintain all lab test reports as well as evaluate and interpret the results.
- Document and maintain têxtile specifications and information.
- Organize têxtile swatches, têxtile masters and test samples.
- Assists in calibration / verification tasks and other ISO 17025 related activities.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

**Required Skills**:

- At least one year of experience working in a lab.
- College Diploma or associate degree in Textile, Laboratory, Polymer, Plastic, Material, Chemistry or similar field. We offer training for employees who do not come from the têxtile field.
- Prior experience in material testing utilizing techniques that are defined by the industry, such as ASTM, AATCC, and ISO.
- In depth technical know-how and mechanical skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate with members of a multidisciplinary group and be a team player with a positive attitude.
- Professional, detail oriented, excellent in time management and extremely well organized with the capacity to handle several tasks and tight deadlines.
- Quick learner with an ability for solving problems.
- Prior experience with Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
- Self-motivated, organized, and multi-tasking skills.

**Supplementary**
- Prior experience in working with têxtiles, composites, polymeric materials, plastics, fibers and yarns would be considered as an asset.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $20.00-$22.00 per hour
