The Maintenance Technician, based at our Waterloo facilities and reporting to the Operations Manager, is accountable for the maintenance and repair of facility systems encompassing mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and structural components. This role may expand in scope commensurate with proficiency, emphasizing diverse maintenance responsibilities.

**Key Responsibilities:.**
- Preserve equipment and facility integrity through a preventive/predictive maintenance regimen.
- Provide expert guidance in troubleshooting and repair utilizing efficient and comprehensive methods.
- Interpret and scrutinize schematic diagrams of mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and CNC systems to diagnose operations and detect anomalies.
- Assess equipment and parts condition, and recommend replacements or repairs as necessary.
- Coordinate installation of new equipment, engaging external services as required.
- Evaluate feasibility of minor modifications to machinery and equipment designs.
- Undertake miscellaneous tasks as needed.

**Position Requirements**:

- High School Diploma required; Post-secondary diploma/degree in a related technical discipline preferred.
- Certificate of qualifications or equivalent experience in a related field (millwright preferred; electrical experience advantageous).

**Knowledge, Experience, and Skills**:

- Minimum of two years’ relevant experience.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting servo motors, drivers, encoders, etc.
- Understanding of applicable codes and regulations (Health and Safety, Electrical).
- Ability to instruct practices and procedures to colleagues, apprentices, and clients.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Exceptional organizational abilities, attention to detail, and a methodical approach to process improvement.

**Work Complexity and Relationships**:

- Self-motivated and results-oriented, with a proactive approach.
- Capable of coordinating tasks and troubleshooting with colleagues.
- Able to work independently under general supervision.

**Physical Requirements & Hours of Work**:

- Regular standing, reaching, and occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds; team lifting for heavier or awkward items required.
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) includes CSA green safety shoes/boots, provided protective eyewear, gloves, and hearing protection.
- **Day Shift**. Full Time

**Decision Making Autonomy**:

- Exercises independent judgment in resolving maintenance challenges creatively and collaboratively, adhering to budget constraints.
- Elevates critical issues impacting business operations to management promptly.

**Job Type**: Permanent

Pay: $33.00-$35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
