Join us as a Business Specialist in Oncology Medical Affairs, where you will lead the tactical management of business and financial planning within an assigned tumour-area. This role is a unique opportunity to work collaboratively with medical affairs leaders and team members, ensuring accurate budgeting and effective communication with our Finance partners. You will also be responsible for contract and operations support, ensuring all medical activities are accurately recorded in AstraZeneca’s internal financial system. This role is based at our Mississauga, ON campus and reports directly to the Finance and Business Planning Lead for US Oncology Medical Affairs.
As a Business Specialist, you will be the point-person for entering and managing all medical activities in our internal financial system. This includes mapping actuals, monthly accruals, monthly rephasing, and High-Level / Detail-Level Operation plans. You will also be responsible for submitting and gaining signature of SOWS, and engaging with the Operations Specialist to ensure that all POs are being generated.
**Key Accountabilities**:
- Manage Anaplan for assigned Tumour-Area/Franchise
- Collaborate with SPMs to submit financial operating plans
- Work with medical budget owners to identify spend trends and report to franchise leadership on risks and opportunities on a monthly basis
- Submit and gain signatures for SOWs, following AstraZeneca procurement policies and procedures
- Provide regular updates on SOW disposition within the AstraZeneca procurement system
- Engage with Operations Specialist to ensure all POs are being generated
**Essential Skills/Experience**:
- Bachelor's Degree (B.S. or B.A.), Business focus strongly preferred
- Experience with budget, finance planning and accounting
- Experience in contract management preferred
- Extensive experience with project management tools and processes
- Effective and collaborative matrix management skills with a focus on guiding diverse groups to achieve excellent results in shared goals
- Strong communication skills with the ability to distill complexity down to what matters to our stakeholders
**Desirable Skills/Experience**:
- Experience with Coupa, SAP and/or Anaplan
- Pharmaceutical experience, Medical Affairs and/or Oncology experience is preferred
