**Roads Summer Student**

The Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury is looking for highly motivated and energetic individuals to be involved in the service delivery of roads, sidewalks, and walkway maintenance duties from May to August 2025.

**Duties & Responsibilities**
- Operate and maintain trucks, trailers, mowers and trimmers to maintain Municipal Right of ways.
- Perform janitorial duties including sweeping and moping and sanitize all floors and stairs and clean, stock and disinfect washrooms.
- Empty trash cans on municipal Right of ways
- Clean and remove roadside debris with mad vac and other various pieces of equipment
- Operate string trimmer removing weeds and other vegetation municipal roads, sidewalks and properties.
- Responds to enquiries from and/or liaises with the public, community groups, and special event organizers regarding maintenance conditions and resolves complaints and/or refers complaints to appropriate individual.
- Pick up/drop off parts, supplies, and equipment at different locations withing GTA for fleet department.
- Other duties as assigned

**Competencies & Qualifications**:

- Must be a registered full-time post-secondary student returning to school on a full-time basis in the next academic year;
- Experience with equipment operation for maintenance is considered an asset.
- Must be available to work 40 hours per week starting April 28, 2025
- Must be able to promote a culture of inclusiveness and work with a diverse population of employees, participants, agencies and the public.
- Must be available to work weekends and evenings.
- Must have a valid class “G” Ontario driver’s license in good standing;
- Required to own or purchase safety footwear as a pre-condition of employment;
- Able to submit a successful Criminal Record & Judicial Matters Check as a pre-condition of employment.

The hourly rate for this position is $17.23- $19.00 (2025 rates) per hour.
