**POSITION DESCRIPTION: Chapter Coordinator, Merritt**
**Location**: Work will be delivered both on-site in Merritt, and from a home office
**Reports to**: Manager, Programs and Special Projects
**Employment Type**: Contract - average of 15 hours per week, with potential additional hours
**Compensation**: $39-45 per hour, based on education and experience.
**DIVISION SUMMARY**
The Rural and Remote Division of Family Practice (RRDFP) supports over 140 family physicians and nurse practitioners across 13 chapters in the province. Operating within four regional health authorities and the First Nations Health Authority, our members serve over 90 communities, including territories of more than 50 First Nations and Métis Chartered Communities.

Reporting to the Manager, the Chapter Coordinator will coordinate and manage logistics of local projects and initiatives according to RRDFP's strategic direction and oversight. This role involves collaboration with our local members as well as Interior Health, local First Nations, the First Nations Health Authority and other Partners as we work together to strengthen and support local primary care. While the majority of work will take during normal business hours, there will be occasional early morning or evening meetings based on the availability of our members and partners.
**RESPONSIBILITIES**

- Build and maintain supportive relationships with members, the RRDFP central team, other divisional chapters, local and provincial partners, and key people and partners.
- Support chapter members within the Division’s scope of services. Link members to appropriate resources as needed.
- Ensure regular touch points with the Chapter Physician Lead regarding chapter work.
- Work with the RRDFP central team and Chapter Physician Lead to support the achievement of organizational goals, objectives and outcomes of various initiatives
- Plan, facilitate, minute and follow up on action items for virtual and in-person meetings within the chapter and for partnered initiatives.
- Ensure all reporting timelines are met, including financial invoicing and reporting, project and chapter activity reports, funder requests, etc.
- Work with local Indigenous partners to incorporate cultural safety and humility into all Chapter work.
- Support efforts to recruit and retain new primary care providers in Merritt.
- Support local relationships with the Health Connect Registry.
- Contribute to RRDFP communication efforts such as creating content, supplying photographs on chapter’s activities, promotion of the local community.
- Maintain accurate and up to date organizational documentation within the RRDFP document hub, across all initiatives and activities.
- Participate in meetings with RRDFP central team, other Chapter Coordinators, regional and provincial meetings.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
**EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE**
- Degree in business administration, public administration, healthcare or related discipline or an equivalent skills and experience.
- Minimum of two years experience in administration or coordination roles
- Experience in working in professional settings that require confidentiality, discretion, tact and diplomacy
**PREFERRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES**
- Education: Preference may be given for a degree in business administration, public administration, healthcare or related discipline.
- Location: the position works from home and in person in the community of Merritt. Preference is given to applicants within short travel proximity to the community.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
- Ability to work independently and in collaboration with others
- Flexible and adaptable to changing work demands
- Highly proficient in the Microsoft office suite and generally tech savvy
- Utilizes initiative, critical thinking and creative problem-solving ability to implement plans
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills with ability to liaise with Division members and Division partners in a professional manner.
- Ability to work flexible hours including occasional evenings or weekends.
