Position Summary
This position is responsible for installing, maintaining, repairing and upgrading a wide variety of warehouse equipment and industrial doors at customer facilities throughout southern Ontario. Employee will work independently or in small teams, and work directly with customers and our sales force to ensure our customers have safe, efficient warehouse operations. They also provide technical expertise to our staff and customers.
This position will work closely with the Lead Technician and the Service Department.

Essential Functions
To perform this job successfully, the Laborer must perform the following duties
- Assist in the correct, safe, and complete repair of overhead door and dock levelling systems.
- Help to resolve issues to customer satisfaction within policy while interacting effectively with persons of diverse backgrounds.
- Assist in performing commercial and industrial maintenance and repairs on a variety of overhead doors and dock levelling systems.
- Will work to learn troubleshooting and repairs on mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems pertaining to the operation of overhead doors, dock equipment, gate equipment and other industry related products.
- Works from ladders, scaffolding, and aerial lifts. Wears PPE and fall protection.
- Distribute materials.
- Remove debris.
- Clean up spills and remove hazardous material.
- Oil and grease hoists.
- Other tasks as directed by lead hand and supervisor

This is a “hands-on”, work in the field position. You will be responsible for all aspects of the physical repairs and troubleshooting. (This position will require some evening and weekend work).

Professional Requirements
This position has the following requirements:

- The ability to work independently to troubleshoot and solve problems
- Good customer service skills
- Ability to work outdoors, at heights, and lift up to 75 pounds
- Drive a service truck, with a good driving record
- Welding skills and prior field service experience is preferred
- Must be proficient in the use of basic hand tools to assemble machinery and equipment.
- Ability to read equipment/site drawings
