Overview / Responsibilities:
Wood is currently seeking an
**Instrumentation and Controls Engineer in Training (EIT) **to join our Mining & Minerals team
**. **Reporting to the Engineering Manager, this position is located at our Vancouver, BC office. If you have a successful track record and thrive on challenges in a fast-paced environment, this opportunity is for you.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Serve as the EIT instrumentation and controls engineer on a project; planning, managing and coordinating the engineering activities on large and/or technical portion of a project and/or serve in an individual contributor role as the engineer completing broadly defined engineering assignments
- Develop, plan, evaluate and recommend solutions for problems under the supervision of senior engineer
- Prepares proposals, cable sizing and design drawings, P&IDs, PFDs and calculations, contract information (CI) sheets, Basic Engineering Design Data (BEDD) sheets, specifications and other engineering documentation using standards and/or new methods as required
- Review drawings, calculations, CI/BEDD sheets, specifications and other engineering documentation for compliance with contract requirements, good engineering practices, codes, and standards
- Prepares technical specifications for purchased equipment
- Coordinate and interface with equipment suppliers
- Prepare technical evaluations of supplier’s proposals
- Work with and communicate with project management team
- Assure the technical quality of work performed by organizational standards, codes and general knowledge of engineering principles and projects
- Perform or review engineering and design tasks requiring operation of available computer assisted software and/or equipment that increments work productivity and accuracy
- Assure that all work on assigned projects is timely, accurate and high quality
- Perform other related duties as assigned by management
- Organize, plans, and coordinate own work.
- Set expectations and monitor delegated activities for schedule and budget

Skills / Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation / Electrical Engineering
- Minimum 0-3 years’ of related engineering experience.
- Registration as an EIT in BC will be considered an asset
- Excellent written and oral skills
- Ability to work and communicate effectively with customers and vendors
- Ability to work with administrative supervision and effectively manage multiple and conflicting priorities
- Knowledge and ability to work with 2D and 3D software
