**Position**: Service Writer, Crane Service
**Location**: Saskatoon
Kristian Electric is looking for a Service Writer, Crane Service, to join our Saskatoon branch. As the Service Writer, you will manage all aspects of incoming customer requests and inquiries, booking and scheduling of service and inspections, estimating costs for services and repairs, and maintain a professional level of customer communication and satisfaction. Knowledge of crane parts, hoists, services, and warranties is an asset, and will be learned on the job.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Service booking and planning work orders
- Adjusting repair orders to reflect any changes or additions to the required work and labor
- Maintain constant communication with the Crane Service Supervisor and Crane Service Technicians on all job progress
- Using Foundation for opening work orders, pricing, and typing reports for customers
- Communicating with customers for all estimates, orders, updates, and billing information
- Sourcing operating service and parts manuals for equipment repair
- Close work order and invoice customers when the job is complete
- Ensure completion of all required documentation at the end of a job. Once complete, scanning, and digitizing documentation.
- Work with the Purchaser to prepare work orders that require approved parts ordered in
- Submitting warranty claims and RMA’s to manufacturers from start to finish
- Directing and providing safety documentation as needed
**Core Competencies**:
- Ability to interact with customers, business associates, and co-workers in a courteous and professional manner
- Mechanically/Electrically inclined, knowledge of overhead cranes, hoists and material handling equipment is an asset.
- Attention to details and very well-organized
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Punctual, reliable, and good attendance
- Ability to handle stress in a positive manner
- Positive attitude towards learning and difficult situations
- Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment
- Ability to function as part of a team and to request and accept direction as required
- Safety awareness
**Educational Requirements**:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
**Experience and Qualifications Required**:
- Minimum 2 years of Service Writing and/or Estimating experience in an industrial service organization
- 2 years of customer service and/or administrative experience
- Experience with Foundation 3000 is an asset
**Working Conditions**:

- May require steel toed footwear
