**Overall Summary of Duties**

The Specialized Painter, reporting to the Franchise Owner, is responsible for the painting of the interior and exterior of structures, buildings and other surfaces.

An excellent Specialized Painter is knowledgeable in selecting the right material for their job. They have experience in general construction practices and painting with various tools and equipment in various heights and spaces while observing all safety measures. They must be reliable and possess great attention to detail in completing their duties.

The Specialized Painter’s goal is to deliver high-quality work in a safe environment.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Attend daily briefings with the Project Manager to set project expectations and safety analysis on the jobsite and provide feedback for the completion of the daily tasks.
- Responsible for reading blueprints/scope of work documents and examine surfaces to determine the kind and amount of work necessary.
- Responsible for maintaining a high level of technical understanding and experience as it relates to planning, scheduling, layout, quality control and hands on practical trade related experience.
- Monitor and maintain the project construction schedule on an as required basis.
- Make on-site preparations such as building scaffolding, covering areas to be painted, taping off windows, hardware prior to work, etc.
- Prepare walls and other surfaces for painting by scraping, using sandpaper, removing old wallpaper etc.
- Drywall repairs, when required, with appropriate material.
- Understand the scope of work and the order of tasks to achieve completion.
- Paint surfaces according to instructions with various tools.
- Be able to calculate man hours on various projects and adhere to that timeline.
- Responsible for adhering to all health and safety practices and procedures.

**Key Requirements**

**Education & Experience**
- High School Graduate
- Minimum of two (2) years’ experience painting residential and/or commercial properties
- Or
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered

**Abilities**
- Solid knowledge of residential and/or construction painting techniques
- Ability to lift up to a minimum of 100 lbs. (usually only 20-50 lbs.)
- Comfortable working at heights
- Aptitude in using appropriate tools (brushes, caulking guns, sprayers, etc.)
- Manual dexterity with excellent balance to work on scaffolding, ladders, etc.
- Conscientious with great attention to detail

**Assets**
- Vehicle ownership and a valid driver’s license with no infractions (requirement)
- Bilingualism in English and French
- Knowledge of the city

**Salary**: $20.00-$25.00 per hour
