**About RSSF**:The Rob Stewart Sharkwater Foundation’s (RSSF) mission was founded in honour of continuing Rob Stewart’s legacy. We are committed to creating tools to engage others and educate communities worldwide to protect sharks, oceans, and future well-being. Our work includes:
- Advocating for shark and ocean conservation;
- Shark Free campaigning to work with industry and consumers to remove shark ingredients from commercial products;
- Researching the latest scientific findings through our collaborations with scientists, researchers, and organizations worldwide to provide legislators and corporations with science-based facts to enable change, and;
- Creating content to educate and inform consumers about the need to protect our oceans and all its creatures.
**Job Title**:Campaigner
**Reports To**:Executive Director
**Location**:Remote
**Salary and Benefits**:$55,000 - $65,000 CAD depending on experience and skill set with medical benefits
**Job Description and Core Responsibilities**:
- Highlighting the important role sharks play in maintaining ecological balance in our oceans as well as in tackling climate change. Identifying solutions to the issues related to shark population declines including commercial, sport, and illegal fishing.
- Project Managing RSSF campaigns including Shark Free, Fin Free, and Climate Shark.
- Researching the latest scientific findings to support campaign initiatives.
- Building relationships and taking a collaborative approach when possible to work closely with organizations, businesses, and government agencies.
- Developing and implementing key campaign strategies, messaging, and actions for various audiences in a creative manner to attract new followers and further engage our supporters.
- Coordinating meetings, key relationships, and tasks involved in supporting campaigns.
- Representing campaign issues at public events, with media, and in creative communications and fundraising efforts.
- Being a self starter/ solutions-oriented individual who can work independently or with RSSF staff, board members, and other key stakeholders.
**Skills and Experience**:
- Proven ability to mobilize and scale impact in direct action campaigns and /or community driven initiatives.
- Creative and solutions-based team player who is highly motivated and brings a “get it done” attitude to work daily.
- Strong working knowledge of Civic, Provincial / State, and Federal policy and political processes for both Canada and the United States.
- Knowledge and commitment to global justice, social change, environmental conservation, and community activism.
- A strong knowledge of shark conservation issues is important.
- Experience working in grassroots campaigning, non-profit organization and/or socially responsible organizations.
- *Strong interpersonal, leadership, and networking skills.
- *Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to engage with a wide range of audiences including industry, funders, and science community.
- *Previous experience with social media platforms and pitching campaigns to the media.
- Can give clear and accurate instructions, presentations, and feedback.
- Excellent time management with the ability to prioritize in an ever changing work environment.
- Effective computer skills (Microsoft Office and Google Workspace) and document management.
- Ability to think and act in a strategic manner.
- Passionate storyteller with proven ability to celebrate and share impact in new ways. Experience creating content for digital marketing campaigns is an asset.
- Ability to work in Canada.
- An independent and confident self-starter that is good at managing stress and personal sustainability.
