Reporting to the Senior Estimator the Estimator will lead a diverse range of projects pursuits ranging in vlaue from $50k to $20M. Pursuits will include various delivery methods including stipulated sum, cost plus, construction management and design-build. You will be responsible for the full estimate process, starting from incoming lead to submitted bid/proposal.

**WHAT YOU WILL DO HERE**:

- Review and understand all project documents including drawings and specifications to determine scope of work.
- Use industry leading estimate software, Destini Estimator.
- Complete take offs for all elements of work, including sub-contracted scopes. Complete detailed take offs (labour, equipment, material) for self delivered work. Knowledge of labour and equipment productivities is beneficial.
- Develop scopes of work for sub-contractors.
- Solicit sub-constractors and suppliers for quotations. Review quotes for completeness and provide tender analysis to project team/Senior Estimator.
- Assist with proposal submissions in response to requests for pre-qualification, qualification, proposal, etc.
- Formulate and complete excel worksheets/estimate forms.
- Assess project risks and opportunities.
- Prepare prelimiary construction schedules with Microsoft Project.
- Analyze potential strategies, advantages, or innovations to produce a competitive bid.
- Compile estimates ranging from order of magnitue budgets to Class A estimates.
- Complete site review meetings.
- Build and maintain relationships with clients, consultants, sub-contractors, suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Maintain databse of vendors and historical cost data.
- Lead/manage meetings at various stages of an estimate or project handover.
- Assist project team with change order processes.

**WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE TEAM**:

- 2-3 years of successful experience in estimating, specifically in residential and commerical construction. Idealy for general contracting companies.
- Post secondary degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Civil/Architectural Technologies, Construction related discipline or equivalent years of experiencing.
- Comprehensive knowledge of project tendering and construction processes.
- Comprehensive knowledge of residential and commerical construction industry and practices.
- A thorough knowledge of the construction market, trades, materials, and sub constractors.
- Software experience beneficial: Bluebeam, Destini Estimator (or other estimating software), Excel, MS Project/Primavera P6, and/or Spectrum experience desirable.
