Janitor/cleaner

The Janitor is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and organized environment across SJ facilities ensuring cleanliness and compliance with safety and hygiene standards.

**Working Hours: 10:00am - 6:30pm (Monday-Friday)**

**Responsibilities**:

- Perform daily cleaning of floors, kitchens, washrooms, locker room, offices, break rooms, and common areas (sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting).
- Empty garbage and recycling bins, ensuring waste disposal areas are kept clean and organized.
- Replenish consumable supplies such as paper towels, hand soap, and sanitizers in washrooms, kitchens, and other common areas.
- Dust and wipe down surfaces, including desks, shelves, and other office furniture.
- Respond promptly to spills or urgent cleaning requests.
- Maintain cleanliness in office spaces, addressing spills, smudges, and high-traffic areas promptly.
- Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and request replenishment when needed.
- Perform daily upkeep of high-use areas and ensure that floors, walls, and windows are free of dirt and smudges.
- Work independently to ensure tasks are completed efficiently.
- Complete and maintain cleaning logs and checklists for all assigned areas.
- Follow all health, safety, and sanitation standards.

**Qualifications**:

- Experience in janitorial work.
- Knowledge of OH&S and WHMIS (training will be provided).
- Basic knowledge of cleaning products and safe chemical handling.
- Ability to push/pull/lift up to 50 lbs and perform repetitive physical tasks.
- Strong attention to detail and reliability.
- Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions.
