BGC Brantford programs foster growth and development for one’s social, emotional, and physical wellbeing. The Bookkeeper is responsible for supporting the fiscal integrity of the Club. Primary responsibilities include: day-to-dayfinancial transactions, supporting the budget and audit process, maintenance of electronic records for vendors and staff members.

MAJOR DUTES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Perform timely and accurate processing of all accounts payable and receivable and ensure complete record-keeping, including monthly bank reconciliations and journal entries (e.g., also includes cheques, EFTs, petty cash, bank deposits, etc.)
- Maintain and balance various accounts using manual and computerized bookkeeping systems (e.g., QuickBooks Online).
- Review and maintain financial and operational policies and procedures.
- Support annual audit activities, including report and record preparation, participation in meetings with auditors and implementation of recommendations and adjustments.
- Assist Executive Director with the management of project budgets, regular budget to actual analysis and strategic forecasting.
- Provide monthly, and on demand, financial reports to management and Board of Directors
- Complete all government reporting (e.g., HST, WSIB, T4s, EHT, Payroll Deductions, etc.) and prepare official donation tax receipts in accordance with CRA Charities Directorate guidelines.
- Knowledge of provincial purchasing guidelines.

TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS:

- Degree or diploma in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Bookkeeping or equivalent education in a relatable field.
- 2-3 years’ experience in finance and/or book-keeping, in a small to medium-sized organization.
- Strong, working knowledge of the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and the Broader Public Sector Guidelines.
- Previous work experience in a Canadian charitable and/or municipal environment is strongly preferred.
- Experience working with, and implementing, various financial software (e.g., QuickBooks, Harmony, Paymates, etc.).
- Adaptable, diplomatic, self-motivated the ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality. - Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize competing deadlines.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work with individuals in all levels in the organization.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: $30.00-$45.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15 - 25 per week
