**Job Description**:
Health Information Management (HIM) includes Health Records, Release of Information and Patient Portal. HIM provides superior client service to both internal and external stakeholders and patients. The team is responsible for the accuracy and quality of the health records whilst safeguarding the integrity of the Health Record.

**Education**:

- Secondary School Diploma or Equivalent Required
- Medical Terminology Required
- Community College Graduate of a Medical Office Administration Program or a registered Health Records Management Program an asset.

**Experience**:

- Excellent computer skills and experience with MEDITECH
- Advanced computer literacy (Microsoft Office Suite)
- Knowledge of Health Information Systems
- Thorough understanding of the Personal Health Information Act (PHIPA)

Competencies:

- Attention to detail and accurately handle small pieces of information, ensuring precision and thoroughness in tasks
- Demonstrate sound judgement and ability to make independent decisions
- Strong customer service skills (e.g., empathy, active listening, conflict resolution)
- Confidence and patience when engaging with the public while multitasking
- Professional demeanor and telephone etiquette are essential
- Excellent communication skills, adapting to diverse personalities and varying stages of physical and mental health.
